Extension Division, Forest Research Institute, (FRI) Dehradun conducted two weeks on training programme on “Making bamboo based handicrafts” from 19th May to 30th May, 2025 at village Umedpur, Dehradun as extension activities of Van Vigyan Kendra in Uttarakhand under the scheme CAMPA-Extension. Above 30 women participants associated with Gangotri Kaushal Vikas evam Utthan Samiti, Dehradun participated in the said training. The master trainers from Pipalkoti, Uttarakhand gave hands on training on making of bamboo and ringal based handicrafts. Different items like, bamboo and ringal basket, wall mount flower pots, pen stand, bamboo rack, stool, carry bag, lamp shed and other decorative items were made during the training. The master trainings tout the techniques of making these handicrafts to all participants. The training closed on 30th May, 2025. At the outset of closing programme, Ms. Richa Misra, IFS, Head Extension Division gave an brief account of training conducted and welcomed the Dr. Renu Singh, IFS, Director, ICFRE-FRI and all other participants and also invited participants to express their views. Dr. Renu Singh distributed certificates to all the participants and expressed her views on the occasion.The training programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Charan Singh, Scientist-F, Extension Division & Mr. Ramesh Khatri, President, Gangotri Kaushal Vikas evum Utthan Samiti, Dehradun. All team members of Extension Division including Mr. Rambir Singh, Scientist-E did a commendable work to make the programme successful.
