He is the Chairman of Bapuji Educational Association which owns a chain of educational institutions including Bapuji Institute of Engineering & Technology.[1] He is a well known educationalist and industrialist and owns a group of industries known as shamanur Group with sugar and Distillaries as prime business.His son Shamanur Mallikarjun was Minister for youth and Sports in the Government of Karnataka. S S Mallikarjun’s father is a very well known Politician, educationalist and industrialist. Shri Shamanur S Mallikarjun was the Minister for Youth and Sports in the Government of Karnataka during 2000 – 04. He is successfully working for the welfare of the public by his determination and dedication for the development of the general public. S S Mallikarjun is a graduate Commerce from Mysore University. He is Joint Secretary of Bapuji Educational Association. S S Mallikarjun has 2 elder brothers S S Ganesh and S S Bakkesh.
