A desperate Trinamool Congress administration is once again resorting to using terror tactics to spread fear and intimidation among the opposition karyakartas. Last night, Darjeeling Police arrested BJP Youth leader Supendra Pradhan, while he was campaigning for Darjeeling MLA candidate Noman Rai. He was apparently arrested in relation to a case from 2016.
While we respect the legal system, but raking up a 10-year old case, and harassing opposition karyakartas only during election campaigning only highlights the political opportunism indulged to by Trinamool Congress and their police.
This is also one of the reasons why, people from our Darjeeling hills, Terai and Dooars have strongly rejected Trinamool Congress. Following the Gorkhaland andolan of 2017, we have suffered under TMC's brutal regime. Our brothers and sisters have been arrested on trumped up frivolous charges, and our aging parents have been continuously harassed by them. This harassment continues till today. It is apparent that no Gorkha is safe, as long as TMC is in power.
I strongly condemn this under-handed tactics used by Trinamool Congress administration. At the same time, I want to remind them, the Gorkhas had never been intimidated by such strong-arm tactics. We will emerge stronger. Supendra is not alone we all stand in solidarity with him. As a Gorkha and a Member of Parliament, I will do everything in my power to uphold justice for Sh. Supendra Pradhan.

हतास बनेको तृणमूल कांग्रेस (TMC) प्रशासनले फेरि एकपटक विपक्षी कार्यकर्ताहरूलाई त्रास र डर फैलाउन आतंकपूर्ण रणनीति अपनाएको छ। हिजो राति दार्जिलिङ प्रहरीले भाजपा युवा नेता सुपेन्द्र प्रधानलाई पक्राउ गरेको छ, जब उनी दार्जिलिङका विधायक उम्मेदवार नोमन राईको पक्षमा चुनाव प्रचारमा व्यस्त थिए। जानकारी अनुसार उनलाई सन् २०१६ को एक मुद्दासँग सम्बन्धित भनी पक्राउ गरिएको हो।
हामी न्याय प्रणालीको सम्मान गर्छौं, तर १० वर्ष पुरानो मुद्दा चुनावको समयमा मात्र ब्युँताएर विपक्षी कार्यकर्ताहरूलाई दुःख दिनु तृणमूल कांग्रेस र उनीहरूको प्रशासनले गरिरहेको राजनीतिक स्वार्थ र अवसरवादको स्पष्ट उदाहरण हो।
यही कारणले दार्जिलिङ पहाड, तराई र डुवर्सका जनताले तृणमूल कांग्रेसलाई कडा रूपमा अस्वीकार गरेका छन्। सन् २०१७ को गोर्खाल्याण्ड आन्दोलनपछि हामीले TMC को कठोर शासन भोग्दै आएका छौं। हाम्रा दाजुभाइ दिदीबहिनीहरूलाई झुटा र बनावटी मुद्दामा पक्राउ गरिएको छ, र हाम्रा वृद्ध आमाबुबालाई समेत निरन्तर दुःख दिइएको छ। यो उत्पीडन आजसम्म पनि जारी छ। TMC सत्तामा रहँदासम्म कुनै पनि गोर्खा सुरक्षित छैन भन्ने स्पष्ट देखिन्छ।
म तृणमूल कांग्रेस प्रशासनले अपनाएको यस्तो कपटपूर्ण रणनीतिको कडा शब्दमा भर्त्सना गर्छु। साथै, म उनीहरूलाई सम्झाउन चाहन्छु—गोर्खाहरू कहिल्यै यस्ता दबाब र धम्कीबाट डराएका छैनन्। हामी अझ मजबुत भएर अघि बढ्नेछौं। सुपेन्द्र एक्ला छैनन्, हामी सबै उनको साथमा छौं।
एक गोर्खा र सांसदको रूपमा, म सुपेन्द्र प्रधानलाई न्याय दिलाउन आफ्नो सम्पूर्ण शक्ति लगाउनेछु।
