Tabakoshi is Healing and Rising Again 🍀
On the night of 4th October, Tabakoshi went through one of its toughest times. Heavy rainfall and the rising river caused severe damage to several riverside homes and homestays. But even in the midst of that chaos, every single tourist staying by the riverside was safely rescued and shifted to secure places within Tabakoshi itself that very night and the following morning, proving that the place remains large, resilient, and capable of ensuring visitors’ safety even during difficult circumstances. Despite the damage, our community stood strong, helped one another, and proved that Tabakoshi is not just a place, it’s a spirit of togetherness and resilience.
Over the past few days, restoration and repair work have been actively underway, and road connectivity to and within Tabakoshi has been fully restored. Essential services and affected infrastructure are gradually returning to normal. The valley is slowly healing, and homestays in many parts of Tabakoshi are once again open and welcoming guests.
It has come to our attention that false information has been circulating regarding road closures and unsafe conditions. We wish to clarify that these reports are incorrect. Tourism in Tabakoshi continues, the valley is open, safe, and several homestays are ready to welcome visitors once more.
Tourism in Tabakoshi is not dead. The village is healing beautifully, the community is working tirelessly, and the charm of Tabakoshi remains very much alive. Come visit, support, and be a part of its revival.💚
