All the citizens of Siliguri Municipal area are hereby informed that the Irrigation Department will open the barrage gates and lower the water level of the Teesta Canal for the purpose of repairing the guide dam adjacent to the Gajaldoba Teesta Barrage, which was severely damaged by the recent floods in Sikkim
As a result, the supply of water to the Teesta Mahananda Link Canal will decrease and the required amount of water to the Fulbari Water Treatment Plant may be lacking. This may disrupt the normal water service of the city from May 10 to May 25, 2024
Siliguri Municipal Corporation will make every effort to meet this water crisis with mobile water tanks and other measures.
