THE MONSOON APPROACHES, AND...

As part of its disaster preparedness, Churachandpur District Administration has taken up drainage clean up works and other flood related disaster mitigation measures. Accordingly, de-clogging exercise of drains and drainage system were taken up in town areas and villages since a couple of days back by NHIDCL/KCC contractors, ADCC, SDOs and VAs.

Like the saying goes - An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, this measures will go a long way in disaster mitigation during the ensuing monsoon. Kudos to the District Administration and let us give a thumbs up by extending cooperation to the works undertaken by the District Administration. Cheerio !

Deputy Commissioner Shri Sharath Arroju and Addl DC Shri Khaikhopau Ngaihte inspect the installation of CT Scan machine at Churachandpur Medical College. The two officials also interact with the staff of CMC and DH, Churachandpur. Once it is functional, it will cater to the needs of the district as well as neighbouring districts. Hope it will take wings sooner.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Identification of Illegal Immigrants visits Singngat, Churachandpur District today. Along with Churachandpur District Administration, the Sub-Committee members identified the barracks inside Singngat PS complex as temporary shelter home for Myanmar nationals who fled their country in the wake of unrest there.

The Cabinet Sub-Committee members included amongst others three Ministers Shri Letpao Haokip (TA&H), Awangbow Newmai (WRD) and Shri Basanta Singh

GOOD TIDINGS, GREAT ACHIEVEMENT

Understanding various aspects of elections and electoral dynamics of multi-ethnic Churachandpur district, particularly security management, has not been pleasant as it seems, but a challenging experience. However, for those who tactfully and determinedly manoeuvred the complexities, smooth tackling of the situation yields a harvest of pride moment.

Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur District Shri Shivanand Surve, IPS received the Best Electoral Practices Award, 2022 (for Security Management) from Hon’ble President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of National Voters’ Day (25th Jan) organised by the Election Commission of India at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi. The National Award was presented to the SP of Churachandpur for his outstanding performance in the conduct of the last year’s Manipur Legislative Assembly elections. This, indeed, is another great achievement for the District and State.
