The Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD) was established on 30th October 2022 and it’s a secular, non-political voluntary organization devoted to the social welfare and developmental activities for fulfilling and better tomorrow for the Gorkha Students. The members of the Gorkha Students’ Union have unanimously resolved for the empowerment of the people and development of the socie

ty and promote the spirit of secularism, oneness, integration to foster unity and diversity among all section of Gorkha people irrespectively. The GSUCD is also a platform to address the grievances of the student community and to harness the leadership qualities to shoulder the responsibilities of the society in future.

The 22 Assam Rifles, Ghaspani Battalion, distributed sports items to the Gorkha Students' Union Chümoukedima District (GSUCD) under the Operation Sadbhavna Project 2025–2026 at the Union Office on 18th March 2026.
The Union applauds the Ghaspani Battalion for being true friends of the Gorkha students and for their continuous support through such meaningful initiatives. This effort reflects their commitment to promoting youth development and encouraging sports activities in the region.

The initiative was taken by Mr. Jacob Sundas, former President of GSUCD. Under his leadership, a strong and positive relationship has been established with the 22 Assam Rifles, which will greatly benefit the student community, especially in the field of sports.

The distribution programme was attended by dignitaries like (Shri. Gopal Lama), President Chümoukedima District Gorkha Union, (Shri Bishnu Chetri), President Chümoukedima Town Gorkha Union, GSUCD official and the Chümoukedima Town Gorkha youth and Women Society.

The 3rd Annual Sports Meet 2025 concluded successfully today at Chümoukedima with a vibrant closing ceremony marked by enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and community unity.

The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Bendangchuba Ao, Headmaster of Nagaland Police Central School, Chümoukedima, Advisor of All Nagaland Private School Association (ANPSA) Chümoukedima Unit, and a noted Entrepreneur, who attended the programme as the Guest Speaker. In his address, Shri Ao encouraged the youth to uphold discipline, dedication, and perseverance through sports, highlighting the role of sports in character building and leadership development.
Shri Bishnu Chetri, Principal of North Town Higher Secondary School, Chümoukedima, and President of Gorkha Union Chümoukedima Town, also graced the occasion as a distinguished guest. He lauded the organizers for successfully conducting the sports meet and emphasized the importance of unity, healthy competition, and youth empowerment through such events.

The programme witnessed the distribution of prizes to the winning teams and outstanding players, followed by words of appreciation for the volunteers, officials, and participants for their tireless efforts. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and it was officially announced that the 2026 Sports Meet will be hosted by the Gorkha Youth & Students' Union, Medziphema.

The 3rd Annual Sports Meet 2025 of Gorkha Students' Union Chümoukedima District was formally inaugurated today with an opening ceremony held at 1st NAP Ground Chümoukedima hosted by Chümoukedima Town Gorkha Youth. The program commenced with enthusiasm and high spirits, marking the beginning of a four-day celebration of sports, unity, and youth empowerment.
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of community leaders, invited guests, and participants from Eight units. The event was inaugurated by the Special guest Shri. Atu Zumvu, ACP West Dimapur & Guest of Honour Shri. Prem Kumar Thapa, General secretary of Nagaland Gorkha Association who highlighted the importance of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and leadership among the youth. Emphasis was laid on promoting physical fitness and nurturing positive values through sporting activities.
Oath-taking ceremony, and inaugural kick-off added color and vibrancy to the program.
The opening ceremony concluded with the commencement of various sports events amid great enthusiasm and community participation.

The Gorkha Students’ Union, Chümoukedima District, celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day-cum-Installation Program for the newly elected office bearers for the tenure 2025–2028 on 26th October 2025 at Chümoukedima Town.

Newly Elected Office Bearers (2025–2028) are:
1. President: Ajay Thapa (Singrijan)
2. Vice President: Ajay Sharma (Singrijan)
3. General Secretary: Vishal Rana (Chümoukedima Town)
4. Press & Publicity Secretary: Merina Chetri (Chümoukedima Town)
