Not Taking Sides — But Reflecting Deeply
I recently watched the full 4-hour podcast where Raj Shamani hosted Vijay Mallya. Let me be clear, I’m not here to declare whether he was right or wrong, guilty or not. That’s for the law to decide.
But one thing I strongly felt while watching it:
We, as a society, are far too quick to form opinions, often entirely based on what legacy media feeds us.
In Mallya’s case, like many others, most of us had already made up our minds long before ever hearing his side of the story. And that’s not just about him, it happens every day with every big headline.
---- We consume what’s trending.
---- We react emotionally.
---- We rarely question the authenticity or the other side of the story.
This isn't a call to support or oppose anyone, it's a call to reflect.
To ask more questions.
To be less reactive and more analytical.
To stop letting media shape our complete worldview.
As citizens of the world’s largest democracy, we owe ourselves and each other, that level of awareness.
