Little Love Library

Little Love Library Little Love began with the love of reading..love for reading and the wish to own em and be surrounded by them. Come onboard if you feel the same for BOOKS! GOD!

The day my father bought me books to read I fell, and I fell long and hard into another world. I have settled there permanently!! It started with the countless times I went through all the pain and excitement to get the next series in a book…. That wait was so annoying! But worth every nano-second. Ahhhhh… My little love for these things called Books. I wish to read them (every time, all time of t

he day), possess them and be surrounded by them. I want to share this fascination to every human, because book is all about the feel; language and the ability to read are secondary. So, technically, that’s how the dream of Little Love began. I’m inviting you all to experience a whole new world- unique characters, different tales, culture and moral-(let’s not forget about gaining a lesson out of all these)-waiting to be explored just for you and I’m hoping to give little love to everyone visiting here...
and... to every parent out there.. dont you want to give the world to ur kid.. i know u do.. so all u have to do is place it in his arms and let him explore the world beyond it :)

Waiting for You All in this new world with much anticipation:)

This week we bring you a special review from our beloved shoba aunty!!

Tintin by Herge! Doesn't it bring a smile to your lips and a twinkle in your eyes? Wow! All the characters are etched eternally in our mind. Herge's illustration has immortalised the characters in this fictional comic series.
Tintin the boy journalist who is always on the move in his trademark blue jumper and brown trouser, not to forget his tuft! Snowy's the wire fix terrier is Tintin's companion in all his adventures. His loyalty to his master is unmatched. Snowy sometimes gets drunk as he has a weakness for whisky and the tipsy Snowy is hilarious in 'Crab with the Golden Claws'.
Captain Haddock and his booming voice exclaiming, cursing, ridiculing 'thundering typhoons, blistering barnacles, filibusters, ectoplasm' and so on. He comes alive in 'Red Rackham's Treasure' and 'Secret of the Unicorn'.
Thomson and Thompson the identical twins and blundering detectives are at their best in 'Explorers on The Moon'. Last but not the least Professor Cuthbert Calculus the genius but absent minded and hard of hearing scientist. His antics in 'Destination Moon' keeps us in splits even now.
I always read a Tintin comic when I want to relax and enjoy the day. Why don't you do the same? Head to Little Love Library pick up your favourite Tintin and bring out the child in you!
Happy rainy day reading!!!
This is Shoba signing off!

Hello Readers ! This is Maria here with a review of 'A McKaslin Homecoming' by 'Jillian Hart'.

I picked this book to unwind for the weekend after a work week. It was a heart warming read. Like a perfect start to the weekend… setting a slow pace for the weekend. It was like being transported to a rural world where the protagonists start their day with horse riding lessons and unwind with a pyjama party with the family. A book which will make you believe that no matter what happens, you can face difficult situations if the family is on your side. This book is a clean read with no parts that would make you cringe or want to skip, it's similar to listening to a sweet melody playing in the background while you go about your chore. Want to binge read on sweet stuff on a lazy day?...Yes? Then this is the book you should pick, curl up in your bean bag and read without a care in the world.

Happy Reading until next time!

Ps: that is me 😎

Hi everyone! Maria here again. This week the book I am writing about is 'Dystopia' by Manoj Jain.

An interesting storyline and what kept me hooked were the embedded stories of all the main characters. From the moment I picked up the book to read I was glued to it as I was eager to know each ones story.

The book starts with a lady getting ready for a reunion with some of her friends from school. She had lost touch with all of them. She seemed snobbish to me at the beginning but once I learnt more about her as the story unfolded I could understand her. It's the same with other characters.

The ending is not what I would call a happy ending but this did not stop me from either continuing or finishing the book. I plead guilty. I say this because I usually have a tendency to read the last page after reading the first few pages. This book was no different and I did the same but continued, despite the book not having the 'All is well that ends well' finish. This is because by then I was attached to all the sub stories that were so beautifully intertwined with the main story. The last chapter is about celebrating the 40th birthday of a dead friend of the lead lady and her friends. The book is the detailed description of the evening from the preparation for the reunion till the cake cutting.

The narrator or here the spirit guide shares lots of interesting side stories of these friends which gives depth to the main story and the characters. The narration will help readers think and ponder and also feel for the characters even the ones that may seem so vain or bitter or unlikeable when the story begins.

A book that will be a good read for every parent who have young or adolescent children. A fiction to remind them of the need to be more patient and understanding of their children and more so towards themselves.

Time for reflection!

Hello readers, a pleasant evening to you all. I am Srinivas and this week I thought I shall kindle the child in all the readers. This review will be a memory jog for a lot of readers in this group and will bring up a faint sense of nostalgia. As a child I always fantasized about being a police or a detective, but you know what the elders say "you are too young to be a detective" but Enid Blyton changed that idea and brought into this world the seven most famous friends of childhood, Peter, Janet, Jack, Pam, Barbara, Colin and George. Together they were "The Secret Seven" - ready to solve any mystery any time.
Re-reading this series brought back a lot of memories and for readers who loved the "seven" back then, trust me, you will be shocked at how much of the plot you still remember and how clearly the characters are etched in your mind. Enid Blyton was able to bring out the detective in all her readers as her writing was so engrossing, it was as if she knew each reader's pulse. I was awestruck by the detail given to all aspects of the plot and how well it was scripted.
The individual characteristic trait of each of the seven kids was very interesting, for instance the bossy nature and leadership attitude of Peter, the funny Barbara or the sincere George who is punctual for the secret seven meetings. We are able to identify ourselves with atleast one character. I was able to connect myself with George and I am very sure that is the case with all readers.
Do give the name of your favourite character and his/her essential quality in the comment box. Make time to read this wonderful ever green piece of work again. Young parents can read aloud to their children and this will only strengthen the bond.
So scamper like Peter and Janet's golden spaniel Scamper, pick up your favourite book in the series and start reading!

Have a great day!!!

Hello readers, a pleasant evening to you all. This is Srinivas and I am here to give an insight into a philosophical journey " The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari: A fable about fulfilling your dreams and reaching your destiny" by Robin Sharma.

This delightful tale is all about looking at life from a different angle with an approach of courage, wit, happiness and perfect balance.

This book is about the unexpected story of a successful lawyer Julian Mantle who discovers there is another side to him. A side which realizes and points out his out of balance life style and makes him confront the lack of spirituality in his life. Here as the title suggests, the lawyer does sell his Ferrari and also his mansion to find his spiritual self and to master the seven stages of Sivana which is enlightenment. What follows captures lessons learned and meaning to his life found.

Do you remember, as kids we have asked our parents questions about birth, life and death? Read this book and you will definitely have your curiosity kindled on that subject. You may not probably find the right answer but you will definitely have more thought provoking questions.

This book has received mixed reviews from readers. In some ways it seems so dramatic and not realistically possible in our modern life but it sure does make us re-think about our lack of spirituality and our way of "out of balance" life style.

Robin Sharma's writing style is a bit slow paced at times and thus might seem a little boring here and there, but the wisdom and the message conveyed is worth the wait ... trust me!!!

Some might even call it a " Life Changing" narrative. Haha, just my view! Please share your opinion after you give this book a shot...

Hello Readers, I am Maria and am back with a review of yet another book 'The Curious Case of the Sweet and Spicy Sweetshop' by Nandini Nayar.

I don't remember what attracted me to the book but I am definitely thankful I was. It was a perfect book to unwind after a long and tiring week. When I started the book I was a little bored but soon I was very much engrossed in it. The book is about a sweetshop and right from the start it showed the need for acceptance of gray in life. Grey or gray is an intermediate color between black and white. Just like life! Nothing could sum up the whole book.

Vishnu the current owner is introduced as a person who is unhappy and unfortunate despite being blessed with lots of abundance. His life is shown as a burden where his real happiness is suppressed. Life changes when two children claiming to be his sister's offspring enter the picture. So? Nothing new, but then his sister had only one child! How he takes a liking to them yet maintains caution and guards the secret Family Recipe Book from them forms the rest of the story. By the end of the book he is reunited with his long lost sister. Now he is more confident and sure of himself, is more lively and certainly much more happier as he finds his own calling and blends it with his family traditions.

The story is a very realistic portrayal of emotions. The illustrations add to the charm of the book. Feelings of being oppressed by your closely held family traditions, of not finding time for your own passions, being alone and needy, being conflicted by your need to be accepted and yet being proud to let anyone know about your need for acceptance...are beautifully expressed.

Another thing comes to my mind now that I pen down my thoughts on the book is that the book till the end in a way stands for acceptance of differences. How true, right? What would life be with everyone being same and liking same things and doing same things? It is a book of contrasts and this is obvious from the name of the book shop. Vishnu not liking sweets yet being the owner while his sister Revathi is said to be a natural at making them, yet she left home as she wanted to be a mountaineer. Lord Vishnu is the preserver of balance while our human Vishnu in this story has no balance in his life.

A very light book which touches upon a lot of themes like hard work, persistence, following passions, bravery, magic etc in a very non preachy way.

Thank you for reading.
