bridge was built in 1869 across

held this office from 1866 to 1877,
this was earlier a narrow bridge , later
it was broadened and converted to a
concrete structure in July 1943 by
Arthur Hope. The beauty of this bridge is, you can
watch both sunrise at Marina beach
and one can see the su

nset too from
either end of the bridge. sunrise from
bay of Bengal and sunset from the
river of Coovam .. Moreover there is a
separate lane for pedestrians, so
there is no need to worry about the
traffic. The best part of this bridge is its view in the night.A real feast to the eyes by its lights.
