Be our proud partners in mitigating climate challenges so as to secure Water & Food For All, For Ever. WATER, as a key natural element of Development, plays a major role in freeing communities from the abject and dehumanizing conditions of extreme poverty, to which more than a billion of them are currently subjected. The looming water crisis and trends for the future pose several challenges for wa
ter & food security. Not only is this precious resource exhaustible, it is already so scarce that life on our planet is under serious threat. If people continue to use water at a rate faster than it can be replenished, failing to consider the consequences of mismanagement on our children. The next generation will be left facing acute thirst & hunger. Amidst the above grim water context, Water Utility Engineers and a band of water & food officials introspected on the urgency and necessity of improving service delivery. The change process that was initiated by them in 2003 led to the formation of a Change Management Group in August 2004 which spearheaded the establishment of a paradigm shift in Water Governance in the various organizations of the State of Tamil Nadu, India. A natural progression of this thought was to coalesce these islands of excellence into a single entity which provides the platform, space and the number to advocate a new paradigm in Drinking water, Water Resources and Food production sectors. Thus evolved The Centre of Excellence for Change (CEC) formally registered under Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. CEC is a coalition of Government officials, water professionals and social scientists leading a citizen centric water movement in India.
