Adyar Poonga

Adyar Poonga A wetland restoration project across the Adyar Creek, the Tholkappia Poonga, also called Adyar Poonga, is a unique eco park.

From a dumping ground to a thriving estuarine ecosystem, the transformation is evident in the unique flora and fauna present here. The beautiful Adyar River runs through Chennai for 42 km before meeting the ocean, forming a lovely estuary - that's been restored in phases...
Now the first phase of restoring the nearly 300-acre sprawling estuary is complete.
