‘சுவடி வாசிப்பும் பாதுகாப்பும்’ பயிலரங்கம்
செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தில் 28.08.2026 முதல் 01.09.2026 வரை ‘சுவடி வாசிப்பும் பாதுகாப்பும்’ என்னும் தலைப்பிலான பயிலரங்கம் நடைபெற்றது. இப்பயிலரங்கில் கல்லூரி ஆசிரியர்களும் முனைவர் பட்ட ஆய்வாளர்களும் பங்கேற்றனர்.
இப்பயிலரங்கில் பங்கேற்ற ஆய்வாளர்களுக்கு ஓலைச்சுவடிகளை வாசிக்கும் முறைகள் குறித்து பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்பட்டதுடன், அவற்றை தூய்மைப்படுத்துதல், முறையாகப் பராமரித்தல் மற்றும் பாதுகாத்தல் ஆகியவற்றுக்கான நடைமுறைகளும் செய்முறைப் பயிற்சியாகக் கற்பிக்கப்பட்டன.
செம்மொழித் தமிழாய்வு மத்திய நிறுவனத்தில் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டு வரும் தொல்காப்பியம், தேவாரம், பெரியபுராணம், நிகண்டுகள், சித்த மருத்துவம் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு தலைப்புகளைச் சார்ந்த 92 ஓலைச்சுவடிகளில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள 10,148 ஏடுகள் தூய்மைப்படுத்தப்பட்டு, முறையாகப் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
பழந்தமிழின் அரிய அறிவுச் செல்வங்களை அடுத்த தலைமுறையினருக்குப் பாதுகாத்து வழங்கும் நோக்கில் நடைபெற்ற இப்பயிலரங்கம், சுவடி ஆய்வு மற்றும் பாதுகாப்புத் துறையில் பங்கேற்பாளர்களுக்கு பயனுள்ள பயிற்சியாக அமைந்தது.
Workshop on “Manuscript Reading and Preservation”
The Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT), Chennai, organised a workshop on “Manuscript Reading and Preservation” from 28 August to 1 September 2026. College teachers and Ph.D. scholars participated in the workshop.
The participants were trained in the methods of reading palm-leaf manuscripts, along with practical training in the cleaning, handling, maintenance and preservation of these valuable manuscripts.
At CICT, 10,148 folios from 92 palm-leaf manuscripts covering works and subjects such as Tolkāppiyam, Tēvāram, Periyapurāṇam, Nikaṇṭus and Siddha medicine, among others, have been cleaned and systematically preserved.
The workshop served as a valuable academic and practical initiative to equip researchers with the skills required for manuscript reading and preservation, while contributing to the conservation of the rich intellectual heritage of ancient Tamil for future generations.
