The Egyptian Vulture, an Endangered species on the IUCN Red List, was one of the most memorable birds I have ever documented. In 2025, I recorded about 14 individuals together at Bird Sanctuary, marking my first-ever documentation of this globally threatened species. With its long down-curved bill and haunting calls, it is one of the most iconic waders of the wetlands. Its presence in the wetlands highlights the importance of this habitat as a vital wintering and feeding ground for migratory water birds, reflecting the ecological value of the wetland.
