ICT Academy is governed by an autonomous Board of Governors with representations from the State Governments, leading companies in the ICT industry and NASSCOM. ICT Academy is a pioneering venture under the Public - Private - Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train the higher education teachers and students in the areas of Information & Communication Technology, thereby making the students industry ready.

Looking towards India’s ambitions for the future, Purushothaman, Senior Scientist, Deputy Project Director, ISRO, Govt. of India, delivered the session “India’s Space Odyssey to 2047” at the 72nd edition of ICT Academy BRIDGE ’26.

Purushothaman highlighted the transformative potential of AI across education, space technology, defence, and disaster management, while reflecting on his personal connection with Puducherry, where he began his education.

He shared how AI can enable personalised learning and predictive analytics in education, while in space technology it can support autonomous spacecraft navigation, satellite constellation and space-traffic management, exoplanet discovery, and predictive maintenance. He also highlighted applications in defence and disaster management, including autonomous systems, battlefield awareness, risk modelling, early warning systems, infrastructure vulnerability analysis, and search and rescue. He encouraged ICT Academy to expand its skilling and collaboration efforts across these emerging technology verticals.

At the 72nd edition of ICT Academy BRIDGE ’26, Shashikanth Jayaraman, CHRO, MulticoreWare Inc, delivered the session “Reimagining Talent, Skills and Careers for Viksit Bharat.”

Shashikanth Jayaraman highlighted the responsibility of preparing India’s young and talented population to drive Viksit Bharat, while noting that platforms like BRIDGE can help bring clarity amid the growing hype around AI. He emphasised that organisations and professionals must adapt to disruption, build capabilities continuously, and respond to what the market needs.

He urged institutions to begin career development from the first year itself, kindle curiosity, and help students discover the why behind what they learn. He encouraged greater exposure to internships, conferences, networking, and industry interaction, and called for a shift from Centres of Excellence to Centres of Engagement, where students are encouraged to experiment, fail, learn, and ultimately succeed.

Laxmi Narasimhan Varadhan, Director – South – Public Sector & Education, Salesforce, shared valuable perspectives during the session “Industry-Academia Collaboration” at the 72nd edition of ICT Academy BRIDGE’26 on 03 September 2026 at Anandha Inn Convention Centre and Suites, Puducherry.

Laxmi highlighted how Agentic AI is transforming industries and creating new opportunities for education and employment. He emphasised the growing need for reskilling and upskilling, noting that Salesforce’s ecosystem is projected to create 11.6 million jobs globally by 2028 and 1.8 million jobs in India by 2026.

He also showcased Salesforce’s Academia Centre of Excellence, collaborative degree programmes, technology labs, certifications, internships, and Campus-to-Career initiatives aimed at preparing students with industry-ready skills in AI, data, cloud, and Salesforce technologies.

ICT Academy is proud to present the launch of the Datamatics Fellowship Program at the 72nd edition of ICT Academy BRIDGE ’26.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering students with future-ready skills, industry exposure, and meaningful learning opportunities, while strengthening the bridge between academia and industry.

Venkatesh emphasised that AI, like technology itself, is becoming an integral part of everyday life, while its definition continues to evolve. He highlighted the need to promote digital AI literacy and equip students with the knowledge to adopt AI ethically and responsibly, with a focus on serving humanity.
