Looking towards India’s ambitions for the future, Purushothaman, Senior Scientist, Deputy Project Director, ISRO, Govt. of India, delivered the session “India’s Space Odyssey to 2047” at the 72nd edition of ICT Academy BRIDGE ’26.
Purushothaman highlighted the transformative potential of AI across education, space technology, defence, and disaster management, while reflecting on his personal connection with Puducherry, where he began his education.
He shared how AI can enable personalised learning and predictive analytics in education, while in space technology it can support autonomous spacecraft navigation, satellite constellation and space-traffic management, exoplanet discovery, and predictive maintenance. He also highlighted applications in defence and disaster management, including autonomous systems, battlefield awareness, risk modelling, early warning systems, infrastructure vulnerability analysis, and search and rescue. He encouraged ICT Academy to expand its skilling and collaboration efforts across these emerging technology verticals.
