Four villages in Tamil Nadu boycotted 2026 assembly elections.

Kulathuvaipatti and Kumaragiri - Vilathikulam Constituency

Residents of Kulathuvaipatti and the Sri Lankan Tamils’ rehabilitation centre have long been quarrelling over a pathway passing through the centre. The pathway is primarily used for reaching agriculture lands, but the Srilankan Tamils had allegedly encroached it and were preventing easy transportation of farm implements and agriculture products.

The residents of the camp are Sri Lankan Tamils who fled the civil war decades ago. They live under the jurisdiction of the Rehabilitation Department. Because the camp is government-regulated land, the local Panchayat and the villagers cannot simply “build” a road through it without state-level clearance.

Now, frustrated after a decade of black flag protests, hunger strikes, and sieges at the Tehsildar’s office, the villagers have decided to boycott the 2026 Assembly election, until “a solution is found”.

1) இந்திய மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்புத் துறையின் மூலம் தேசிய அளவிலான சாதி கணக்கெடுப்பு:

இந்தக் கணக்கெடுப்பு ஒவ்வொரு நபரின் சமூக, பொருளாதார, கல்வி, வேலைவாய்ப்பு மற்றும் அரசியல் அம்சங்களை உள்ளடக்கியிருக்க வேண்டும்.

இது தெலங்கானா மாநிலத்தில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட சாதி கணக்கெடுப்பை மாதிரியாகக் கொண்டு செயல்பட வேண்டும்.

2) கல்வி, வேலைவாய்ப்பு, அரசியல் மற்றும் பிற துறைகளில் OBC மக்களுக்கு வழங்கப்படும் இடஒதுக்கீட்டில் இருக்கும் 50% வரம்பை நீக்க வேண்டும்.
