BREAKING NEWS: Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya out on bail.

Dated Aizawl, the 9th October, 2023: In a significant development, on suspension of Conviction and sentence order of Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya, Chairman of the Chakma Autonomous District Council, has been released on bail today. The decision comes after an appeal filed by his legal team before Hon'ble Mr. Justice Nelson Sailo.

The hearing took place on 6th October, 2023. Mr. A.M Bora, a learned senior counsel, assisted by Mr. Bipul Bhagawati, presented the case for the appellant. The application sought the suspension of the ex*****on of the sentence and orders issued on the 25th and 26th of September 2023, respectively.

Mr. Bora strongly argued that Kali Kumar Tongchangya had no previous criminal convictions and had been on bail throughout the trial. The counsel referred to paragraph 10 of the impugned order dated 26th September 2023, arguing that the trial court itself acknowledged the absence of evidence indicating the misappropriation of funds for personal gain by the appellant.

Considering the submissions made by the learned senior counsel and in adherence to Section 389 of the CrPC and its proviso, Hon'ble Mr. Justice Nelson Sailo decided to suspend the impugned judgment & order of conviction and the order of sentence. This suspension will remain in effect until the final disposal of the connected criminal appeal.

As a result of the above decision, Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya is out on bail today.

*Kamalanagar, 25 September, 2023:* In a momentous show of support for the Mizo National Front (MNF), a total of 1581 individuals have joined the party en masse during a remarkable induction program held at the MNF party's office in Kamalanagar under the Chairmanship of Dangu Doyal Chandra Dewan, Treasure, MNF District Headquarter: Kamalanagar These new members, hailing from various opposition parties including the BJP, Congress, and ZPM, officially joined the MNF. Dangu Purna Chandra Chakma, President, MNF District Headquarter: Kamalanagar heartily welcomed the new voters and was inducted in the party.

This significant development comes as Mizoram gears up for the upcoming assembly election which is going to be held in the end of this year. Dangu Purna Chandra Chakma, addressing the gathering, expressed deep satisfaction at welcoming such a substantial influx of new members into the MNF party. He warmly stated, "I wholeheartedly welcome each and every one of you to the MNF party. Your decision to join the MNF is a wise one, and I have every confidence that you will prove to be invaluable assets in strengthening our party."

Dangu Durjya Dhan Chakma also addressing the assembled crowd, viewed this mass joining as a positive omen for the MNF. He asserted, "Seeing such a large number of individuals from other political parties choosing to align themselves with the MNF is a testament to our party's appeal. With the upcoming assembly elections on the horizon and considering the current political scenario in the state, I am confident in stating that the MNF is poised to form the government once again. In reference to the 36-Tuichawng Assembly Constituency, Dangu Parimal Chakma, President, DSEB & MDC of Kamalanagar North MDC Constituency expressed optimism about the MNF's candidate securing a resounding victory. Kamalanagar North Constituency Update

Kamalanagar, the 13th September, 2023: In a positive development, today, Dangu Parimal Chakma, the MDC of Kamalanagar North Constituency, called an important meeting at his residence. This meeting was attended by all the members of Village Councils within his MDC constituency. Additionally, Dangu Durjya Dhan Chakma, Vice-President, and Dangu Arun Kumar Chakma and Dangu L. Santosh Chakma, General Secretaries of MNF District Headquarters in Kamalanagar, were also present.

The main agenda of discussion were regarding organization and strengthening of the MNF party within the constituency. In this regard, they have decided to initiate a mass enrollment campaign within few days to induct members from other political parties who have expressed willingness to join the MNF.

The Village Council Members expressed their admiration for the cooperative spirit between Dangu Parimal Chakma and Dungu Durjya Dhan Chakma, who have joined hands to work towards a common goal within the same party, putting aside their past political differences.

Both leaders made a firm commitment to exert their best efforts to ensure the highest number of votes from Kamalanagar North MDC Constituency are cast in favor of the MNF candidate for the 36 Tuichawng constituency in the upcoming MLA election.

Kamalanagar, 9th Sep. 2023:
Hundreds gathered to give a rousing welcome to MNF MDCs at Damdep-II under Jaruldubosora MDC Constituency. The MDCs were on 2 days tour. The 1st Day began with an welcome grandeur and the public meeting as well as cultural extravaganza was on the 2nd day. More than 50 voters from various parties have joined the MNF Party insisting their trust on the Chakma ADC Govt. led by CEM Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma.

A meeting was organised by the local leaders and village councils where more than 400 people gathered from Damdep-II and nearby village councils of Jaruldubosora Constituency. The meeting began with an invocation by Kohran Upa and speech by local leaders followed by the visiting MDCs. The people gathered reaffirmed their faith and trust in the ruling Govt. and assured continuous support to the Govt. led by CEM Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma in the upcoming MLA election as well. It is important to note that Damdep-II is a beautiful village where most residents are from Pang Community, a Zo-Hnathlak Tribe.

The MDC group was led by Dangu Lakkhan Chakma, local MDC & EM. He was accompanied by Dangu Sundormuni Chakma, MDC & Dy. Chairman, Dangu Molin Kumar Chakma, MDC & Advisor to CEM, Dangu Mohan Chakma, MDC & Advisor to Planning Committee, Dangu Hemanta Larma, MDC and Dangu R D Sangzela, MDC.

The joyous tour concluded with a luncheon (Bara Khana) organised by the local leaders in honour of the visiting dignitaries.

Kamalanagar, 30th June, 2023:
A momentous programme was organised at the MNF District Hqrs: Kamalanagar, Chakma ADC to observe the 37th "Remna Ni" today. A tripartite Agreement was signed between Mizo National Front (MNF) represented by Dangu Laldenga, Union Territory of Mizoram represented by Dangu Lalkhama and Govt. Of India represented by Home Secretary Dangu R. D. Pradhan on 30th June, 1986 in the name of "Mizoram Accord". The signing of "Mizoram Accord" led to the creation of Mizoram as the 28th State of India that brought Peace, Stability and Development in Mizoram. One of the salient feature of the Agreement is Guaranteed Protection, Preservation and Promotion of Minorities Rights, Culture and Development as envisaged in the Constitution of India.

Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, Chakma ADC was the Chief Guest of the auspicious programme. While addressing the gathering Dangu CEM said "Remna Ni is not only a momentous day for the people of Mizoram but also a Spirit of Understanding, Compromise and Agreement keeping aside many differences. This "Day" should inspire every one specially the youths to not only be certified educated but also inculcate wisdom in their thoughts and actions for the lasting betterment of the Community and the Nation. If we can inculcate the spirit of Remna then we shall have smooth and successful functioning of the Party as well as the Government". The programme was chaired by MNF District Vice President Dangu Durjya Dhan Chakma.

Another programme was also organised at Parva, Chakma ADC to observe "Remna Ni" where local MDC Dangu Mohan Chakma graced the auspicious programme as a Chief Guest

Kamalanagar, the 28th June, 2023: In response to the Circular received from the MNF General Headquarter: Aizawl, an extended Office Bearers meeting of MNF District Headquarter was held on 27th June, 2023 under the Chairmanship of Dangu Durjya Dhan Chakma, Vice President, MNF District Headquarter; Kamalanagar pertaining to the observation of Remna Ni (Mizoram Peace Accord Day) which is going to be observed on 30th June, 2023. Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC, Executive Members, CADC, MDCs and many other Office Bearers including frontal organisations of the MNF District Headquarters: Kamalanagar were in attendence.

In a meeting it was decided to observe the Remna Ni (Mizoram Peace Accord Day) at MNF District Headquarters office at 11:00 am. Remna Ni is a day of the Mizoram Peace Accord or an agreement signed in between the Government of India and the Mizo National Front on 30th June 1986. Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC shall grace the occasion as Chief Guest. All the elected MNF MDCs, Party Leaders and the general public are to attend the programme.

Kamalanagar, 24th June, 2023:
Today Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, Chakma ADC along with Dangu Santosh Chakma, EM, Sports etc. inspected the Kamalanagar Football Ground to check the flooding issues due to possible blockage of drain outlet. Other Executive Members Dangu Supan Chakma, Dangu Ananta Bikash Chakma, Dangu Montu Chakma and District Sports Promotion Officer Dangu Kamalashwar Chakma also accompanied Dangu CEM.

The visiting Leaders also interacted with the youths and sports person who use this Football Ground for regular practice. The football Ground was made Astro Turf at the cost of ₹532.50 Lakhs under the able Leadership of Dangu Robert Romawia Royte, Honourable Sports Minister.

Hon'ble DC&MA Minister Dangu Robert Romawia Royte called for a Coffee Meet at Aijal Club. Hon'ble CEM Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma along with the Party Leaders of Chakma District Headquarters and MDC were present at the meeting.

Hon'ble Minister expressed joy for forming an MNF Govt. in Chakma ADC and congratulated the team for their effort. The main subject of the meet was to discuss on the upcoming MNF Victory celebration at Kamalanagar wherein Hon'ble Chief Minister Dangu Zoramthanga is expected to grace the occasion accompanied by entourage of State Leaders.

In consultation with Hon’ble CM, the meeting decided to schedule the Grand Public Victory Celebration on the 16th June, 2023 (tentatively) at Astroturf Football Ground, Kamalanagar.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Dangu Zoramthanga met Dangu Robert R Royte DCMA Minister and Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma, newly elected CEM at his Office today. Dangu Chief Minister congratulated them for the success in the recently held Chakma ADC Election. Dangu CEM after a detail discussion yesterday with Minister Royte, submitted a number of proposals for development of Chakma ADC areas. Hon’ble CM assured them of all possible assistance.

A conclusive discussion was also held towards formation of new Ministry (Executive Committee), appointments and allocation of responsibilities for a Stable and Progressive MNF Govt. in Chakma ADC. Dangu CEM and Dangu Minister was accompanied by Dangu Hemanta Larma, Media Chairman, MNF Dist. Hqrs.

New CEM in Action!
New Chief Executive Member of Chakma Autonomous District Council, Dangu Rasik Mohan Chakma gets into action mode. Seizing Sunday as holiday Dangu CEM went for spot site visit for new School Building at Kamalanagar-V (east of Arati Nagar), today morning. The Upper Primary School was sanctioned under Backward Block Grant Fund, NEC scheme at the estimated cost of ₹29, 78, 772/- (twenty nine lakhs seventy eight thousand seven hundred and seventy two only). Dangu CEM was accompanied by Chakma ADC Chairman, Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya, Dangu Porimal Chakma, MDC-Kamalanagar North and Dangu H. Amaresh Chakma, MDC(former) of Kamalanagar South. The School project was initiated while Dangu H. Amaresh Chakma was the MDC of Kamalanagar South under which Kamalanagar -V area comes. Land & Revenue Staffs along with Engineers from PWD Department too accompanied Dangu CEM.

As soon as the School site visit got over, Dangu CEM rushed to the Kamalanagar main Bazar area in the east of the town to assess the damaged road and taxi parking area. This area has become so dilapidated that it gets flooded at the slightest rain fall causing inconveniences to the people and Merchants. After a thorough assessment Dangu CEM immediately instructed the concern department to clean the side drains and do other necessary repair works for temporary respite. Complete resurfacing of the town area roads including the main Bazar arae with asphalt will be done by the PWD soon. An amount of ₹200,00,000/- (two hundred lakhs only) is already sanctioned under SATSCI (Special Assistant to State for Capital Investment) scheme.
