Bullfrogs are seen everywhere around chandpara, but its monsoon that makes them loose their camouflage and dazzle in their bright yellow colors accompanied by loud, ambient calls and yes a pair of blue vocal sacs , all for the sake of impressing their mate :)
Although common, this magnificent creature is facing ill fate due to people who drastically hunt them down.
A humble request from team WBC, if you find this beautiful creature being hunted in your locality, please stand up against it.

Flowers of a season bloomed in its glorious red,
the distant sky became a soulful bokeh,
and from somewhere nearby
came a parrot and started sipping nectar as if he was in love.........

such was a day of spring in Chandpara.

The cattle egrets often gather in the newly cultivated lands for underground insects that emerge due to the ploughing of such fields. To feed among such number of birds , one needs to be pretty quick.Often in the rush , the prey gets loose of the beak and sometimes they manage to catch it airborne once again , interesting table manner must say :) Photographed in Chandpara.

Extraction of juice from the trunk of date palm trees is a century old tradition in Bengal , which gave way to a delicious alternative for the local wildlife too. Here,a yellow footed green pigeon is enjoying the winter morning delicacy. Such sights can be witnessed in almost every day of winter in Chandpara.

With the quiet sun in the horizon, dusk shines in the crest of green bee eaters as they head to the ground below for their dust bath.Scientifically,it is their way to get rid of parasites, well, from a casual angle it looks like they are having lots of fun :) photographed in 'kinar math',chandpara.

After the collared scops owls have completed their nesting period and the juveniles are out of the nest, they are seen nearby with their parents. Its always a pleasure to see an owl but always a blast to see more than one.At this time the full family can be seen roosting together in many places of chandpara.Image by-Manas Sarkar.
