A proud and inspiring meeting with Mr. Randip Janda (Canada) – Host at Hockey Night in Canada Punjabi & Sportsnet, a renowned voice in international Ice Hockey and a strong representative of the Punjabi diaspora, who met with Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bakshi, President IHAC & IHAI, and Mr. Chetanpreet Singh, while Mr. Harjinder Singh Jindi (Gen. Sec. IHAI) joined virtually, to discuss strengthening and growing grassroots Ice Hockey in the region and beyond.
Beyond sport, the interaction beautifully reflected the intermingling of culture and hockey, showcasing how the Punjabi diaspora continues to play a meaningful role in connecting communities worldwide through passion, pride, and sport. 🤝🏒
The meeting explored exciting ideas aimed at taking Chandigarh Ice Hockey’s recent achievements at the Khelo India Winter Games to the next level through key actionable next steps:

Fighting against the odds!

The men’s team, which fought back from a 2-0 deficit in the final, and the women’s team, which secured a bronze medal, returned from the Khelo India Winter Games to Chandigarh on Thursday to a warm reception.

A moment of pride for Chandigarh Ice Hockey 🏒🇮🇳
As it is a moment of pride for the people of Chandigarh, the Chandigarh Men’s 🥈 and Women’s 🥉 Ice Hockey teams were first hosted for a lunch and press conference at CGA Range, Chandigarh, before meeting and being felicitated by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator of Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria.
The ceremony took place in the presence of his Principal Secretary, Director Sports Mr. Saurabh Arora, along with Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bakshi (President, Ice Hockey Association of Chandigarh & Ice Hockey Association of India), Mr. Harjinder Singh “Jindi” (General Secretary, IHAI), Mr. Robin Aggarwal (Vice President, IHAC), and coaches Chetanpreet Singh & Gaurav Raheja.
