🚨🚨 Measles Outbreak Alert in Snohomish County, Washington! 🚨
Health officials have declared a measles outbreak after three local children tested positive for the highly contagious virus. The cases are linked to a visiting family from South Carolina . who were infectious during holiday travel in late December 2025 to early January 2026.
Updates so far:
Started with 3 unvaccinated kids showing fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and rash.
By late January 2026, three more cases were confirmed → total of 6 cases in the county (all unvaccinated children)
Statewide in Washington: Over 20 confirmed measles cases reported this year as of mid-February 2026.
Linked exposures happened at public spots like airports, churches (e.g., Slavic Christian Church in Mukilteo), and other locations — check the official map for details!
Measles spreads VERY easily through the air — one infected person can infect up to 18 others in a room if they're not protected. But it's 100% preventable with the MMR vaccine (2 doses give strong lifelong protection).
Health officials are urging everyone to:

✅ Get vaccinated if you're not up-to-date — it's safe and free/low-cost at many clinics.

a tiny 5-year-old named Michael Orlando Clark Jr. struts into a Michigan courtroom like it's the biggest party ever... and guess what? He basically turned it into one.
