🌿🐦 Exploring Nature. Discovering Wildlife. Learning by Doing! 🦋🌳

Curiosity came alive amidst the wonders of nature during the Nature’s Trail Programme, organised by Bardhaman Science Centre, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums-NCSM, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with Bardhaman Zoological Park, Golapbag, Purba Bardhaman, on 8 October 2026, as part of the Wildlife Week celebration.

🔍 From observing diverse trees and insects to spotting birds through binoculars, students enjoyed an exciting outdoor learning experience beyond the classroom. The programme encouraged them to explore biodiversity, understand natural habitats and appreciate the importance of wildlife conservation.

💚 Every step in nature is a lesson in conservation!

As part of the Wildlife Week 2026 celebrations, Bardhaman Science Centre a unit of National Council of Science Museums-NCSM Ministry of Culture, Government of India organised an insightful Popular Science Lecture by Prof. Naba Kumar Mondal, HOD, Department of Environmental Science, University of Burdwan, focusing on the importance of wildlife, biodiversity and environmental conservation.

The session was followed by an engaging Open House Quiz, where students enthusiastically participated and tested their knowledge of the natural world. 🐾🧠

🦋🌿 Celebrating Wildlife. Inspiring Conservation.

Bardhaman Science Centre a unit of National Council of Science Museums-NCSMMinistry of Culture, Government of India celebrated Wildlife Week 2026 on 6 October 2026 in collaboration with Bardhaman Zoological Park, Golapbag, Purba Bardhaman, with a series of engaging activities aimed at creating awareness about wildlife and the importance of biodiversity conservation.

The celebrations commenced with an inaugural ceremony graced by Ms. Sanchita Sharma, Divisional Forest Officer, Bardhaman Zoological Park, along with the Additional Divisional Forest Officer Shri Mars Das.

Their presence added significance to the occasion and reinforced the shared commitment towards wildlife conservation, environmental awareness and fostering a deeper appreciation of our natural heritage among young minds. 🌳🦌

The programme brought together students and educators in the spirit of learning, awareness and responsible stewardship of nature.

As part of the initiative undertaken under the Samagra Shiksha Mission, Purba Bardhaman, in collaboration with Bardhaman Science Centre, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums-NCSM, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, students of DEYASHA ALIGRAM B.S UCHCHA VIDYALAYA took part in an engaging session of hands-on science activities.
