Closing of "Swachh Gaon Suraksh*t Jalvayu" Campaign with special Gram Sabha on World Environment Day 2026 across all the GPs of under Bongaigaon District successfully.
The program carried out with active participation of BDOs, GP Functionaries, PHED, Agriculture, CLF Members, Community Representatives and General Public. Key points discussed in the Gram Sabha are SWM Rules, importance of Waste Segregation, Functionality of SBM-G assets, Water quality, Community participation through Tariff collection and O&M by WUC for sustainability of PWSS under JJM.

Day 1 Activity: As the first-day activity of the "Swachh Gaon Suraksh*t Jalvayu" Campaign, a sensitisation programme on Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules was conducted through Video Conference (VC) for Gram Panchayat representatives and Lead Facilitators under Bongaigaon District. The program is attended by CEO, Zilla Parishad Bongaigaon, BDOs from all the 5 Blocks, Executive Engineer(PHE), SBM-G Bongaigaon Staffs, GP Secretaries and Presidents and PRIs.

The session focused on source segregation, waste management practices, roles and responsibilities of stakeholders, and community awareness for effective implementation of SWM activities at the village level. Participants actively engaged in the session and expressed their commitment towards successful observance of the campaign.

An Awareness Program on "Menstrual Hygiene Practice" was conducted today at North Bongaigaon High School, under Bongaigaon District. The objective of creating awareness among adolescent girls regarding safe menstrual hygiene practices and proper menstrual waste management.

The program witnessed the active participation of a total of 110 students. Female teachers of the school were also present during the session and encouraged the students to openly discuss menstrual health-related issues and hygiene practices.
During the awareness session, detailed discussions were held on:
1. Importance of menstrual hygiene
2. Safe use and disposal of sanitary pads
3. Personal cleanliness during menstruation
4. Health issues caused due to poor menstrual hygiene
5. Breaking myths and stigma associated with menstruation
6. Menstrual waste management and environmentally safe disposal methods.
