The District-level inauguration of the 9th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah 2026 was successfully conducted today, 10th September 2026, at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Bongaigaon.

The programme was inaugurated by the respected District Commissioner, Bongaigaon, in presence of the Assistant Commissioner, DSWO, Joint Director of Health Services, School Inspector and HODs of all concerned Line Departments.

The meeting was attended by all CDPOs, Supervisors, DHEW officials, POSHAN officials and other concerned functionaries.

During the meeting, the District Activity Plan for POSHAN Maah was discussed in details, with emphasis on effective implementation, inter-departmental convergence, community participation and achievement of the desired nutrition outcomes during this camping.

As part of the observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, an Awareness Rally and Community Meeting to promote Exclusive Breastfeeding was organized on 4 August 2026 at Nagariyagaon Model Anganwadi Centre under Dangtol ICDS Project, under the chairmanship of the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO), Bongaigaon.

The programme was attended by the CDPO, Supervisors, Poshan Abhiyaan and DHEW officials, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), pregnant women, lactating mothers, family members, and other community people.

The meeting emphasized the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and encouraged collective community support to ensure a healthy start for every child.

World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | Bongaigaon

Today as a part of the observance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026, a District-Level Online Orientation Meeting was held on 3rd August 2026 under the chairmanship of the DSWO, Bongaigaon.

Subsequently, Project-Level Orientation Meetings and awareness activities were conducted across all five ICDS Projects i.e Boitamari, Dangtol, Manikpur, Srijangram and Tapattary on Exclusive Breastfeeding, the IMS Act, 1992, and the significance of World Breastfeeding Week 2026.

The activities of the week included Joint Awareness Programmes with line departments, community-based events on Exclusive Breastfeeding, home visits to pregnant women, lactating mothers and grandparents for counselling, and IEC display activities at key public locations.

The programmes witnessed the active participation of CDPOs, Supervisors, Poshan Abhiyaan officials, DHEW officials, AWWs, AWHs, pregnant women, and lactating mothers, reaffirming the collective commitment to promoting exclusive breastfeeding and ensuring better nutrition for every child.
