Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive | World Rabies Day, 2025

On the occasion of World Rabies Day 2025, the State Veterinary Dispensary, Kohora, organized an Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive targeting the canine population of the fringe villages surrounding Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.

The drive was conducted with the objective of reducing the risk of rabies transmission in the vulnerable interface between domestic animals, wildlife, and humans. By vaccinating the local dog population, the initiative aims to protect not only the health of the community but also the biodiversity of this globally significant landscape. A total of 48 dogs were vaccinated during the program.

This program highlights the commitment to safeguarding animal health, preventing zoonotic diseases, and contributing to the global goal of eliminating rabies.

As part of the flood relief measures, Veterinary team today, set mobile veterinary camps and treated stranded animals at the following flood affected areas- 1 No. Parghat and 2 No.Parghat.
Since many animals could not be brought to the designated site, the team reached out to the affected households to provide necessary care along with SDRF team for ensuring safety of team members.
