A one-day awareness programme on the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Support Scheme (CMESS) under the One Family One Livelihood initiative was organised today at INA Auditorium Hall, Moirang by the Planning Department in coordination with the District Administration Bishnupur.

Aimed at educating Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in and around Moirang area, the awareness programme highlighted key features of CMESS, including 100% coverage under CGTMSE and MCGS, collateral-free loans, and no requirement of third-party guarantors, among others.

The DC appreciated the large turnout of participants at the awareness programme.

Hon’ble Home Minister, Shri Govindas Konthoujam, along with Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur Smt. Pooja Elangbam and other District Level Officers (DLOs) distributed benefits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at Mangolnganbi Relief Camp, Ningthoukhong.

Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble Home Minister stated that the distribution programme is being organised under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Khemchand, with the objective of extending all possible assistance to the IDPs. As part of the initiative, a sum of ₹2,420 is being provided to each IDP through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to support the purchase of mattresses and other essential personal items.

In her keynote address, DC Bishnupur Smt. Pooja Elangbam expressed her gratitude to the Hon’ble Home Minister and all the DLOs for their support in improving the lives of the IDPs. She informed that the ₹2,420 credited through DBT is being provided as additional special support to all IDPs.

2nd day of the District level training programme for Census 2027 Phase-I on Houselisting and Housing Census, HLO which began yesterday at Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

The training jointly organised by the Directorate of Census Operations, Manipur and the District Administration Bishnupur under the overall supervision of the Principal Census Officer, PCO Bishnupur will end tomorrow i,e 19th February, 2026.

Deputy Commissioner and Principal Census Officer, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, emphasized the importance of the training, stating that its primary aim is to equip Census functionaries with a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities. The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW), in collaboration with the District Administration Bishnupur, today organised a one day sensitization programme on “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013” at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

The programme chaired by Th. Tiningpham Monsang, Chairperson, MSCW was attended by W. Phajatombi, Member Secretary, MSCW and Additional Director, DIPR; Sk. Sophia, Member, MSCW; Sh. Gunamani, AC to DC Bishnupur; S. Tryphena Reikhenamai, SDPO Bishnupur; along with District Level Officers and members of the Internal Committees of various offices and Local Committee.

DC Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam today launched a Mobile Canteen Initiative run by Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) for school students at New Model Public School, Kumbi.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stated that the mobile canteen is a commendable initiative that would greatly benefit the IDPs by providing them with a source of income through the sale of food items at schools. She further informed that the mobile canteen facility will be extended to all schools across the district, with the initiative formally beginning at Kumbi today.

A one-day awareness programme on “EMF Radiation: Facts & Myths and Cyber Security and Citizen-Centric Services” was held today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

During the programme, officers from the Department of Telecommunication (DoT), Manipur State Unit, Northeast Licensed Service Area, along with Sanchar Mitra, delivered detailed PowerPoint presentations on various important topics. These included problems of cyber-crime through telecom services, the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP), AI and facial recognition-powered solutions for telecom SIM subscriber verification (ASTR), AI-based and other tools for detecting fraudulent cases, prevention of international spoof calls, prevention and reporting of cyber fraud, Sanchar Saathi Portal, Know Your Mobile (KYM), Chakshu, and the importance of Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), among others.

DC Smt. Pooja Elangbam, today inaugurated a market shed at the Kwakta Sericulture Pre-Fabricated House Relief Camp, Kwakta, as part of ongoing efforts to empower Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) through sustainable livelihood initiatives.

The market shed, comprising 18 stalls at present, has been set up under the initiative to enhance livelihood opportunities for IDPs. The programme was organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur, in coordination with the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Smt. Pooja Elangbam expressed happiness over the initiative, stating that it would help generate income for IDPs while providing them with a dedicated space to improve their livelihoods. She called upon all stakeholders to extend their support and ensure the success of such meaningful initiatives.

Shri Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, today visited Bishnupur District and chaired a review meeting on higher education at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

During the visit, he highlighted that traditional classroom-based education system needs to be aligned with the evolving requirements of the present times. Emphasizing the need for transformation, he noted that when courses offered are relevant and practical, student engagement and attendance naturally improve.

DC Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, along with Commandant of 08 BN CRPF, Shri Anil Kumar Ram and renowned football coach Potsangbam Renedy Singh today inaugurated a Football Training Camp for Internally Displaced Children at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

The three-month-long training camp is being organised by the District Administration, Bishnupur, in association with 08 Dett. Bn. CRPF, and is sponsored by NHIDCL. A total of 35 children will receive football training under the guidance of International and National Level Certified Coaches, including Potsangbam Renedy Singh.
