“One Day Camp: Learning, Leadership & Adventure”

On 12th April 2026, the Veerangana Avanti Bai Group, SEC Railway BS&G Bilaspur, successfully organized a One Day Camp for Rangers. The camp included registration, opening ceremony, and engaging activities like ice-breaking, tent pitching, cooking, and gadget making. Rangers also worked on advancement activities with dedication. The day ended with an energetic campfire and closing ceremony. All participants showed great enthusiasm, making the camp a grand success.

"Observance of Earth Hour by Scouts and Guides"

As per the directions of the National Headquarters, today on 28th March 2026, Veer Azad Group of South East Central Railway Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bilaspur District, organized an awareness and inspiring programme under the theme *“Earth Hour – Give an Hour for Earth”*. The main objective of this programme was to develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment among the children.

During the scheduled time from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, all children switched off non-essential lights and electronic devices in their homes and observed Earth Hour. During this time, they utilized it productively by studying, helping in household work, and spending quality time with their families, showing responsibility and self-reliance. Some children also prepared simple homemade food, conveying the message that an eco-friendly lifestyle can be adopted with limited resources.

Through this programme, the children delivered an inspiring message that “Give an Hour for Earth” is not just a symbolic initiative, but an opportunity to adopt discipline, simplicity, and environmental awareness in our daily lives.

In conclusion, all the members of Veer Azad Group participated with great enthusiasm and proved that small efforts can make a big difference in protecting our Earth and building a better future.

"Celebration of World Water Day-2026"

Today on 22.03.26, the S.E.C. Railway, Bharat Scouts and Guides – Veer Azad Group celebrated "World Water Day" with great enthusiasm and active participation.

The program commenced with a Water Awareness Rally in the Railway Colony near the District Headquarters, spreading awareness about the importance of water conservation.

This was followed by an extempore speech competition on “Water is Life”, where participants were given the freedom to speak in regional languages, making the event unique and engaging.

All Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers, and Leaders then took a Water Conservation Pledge. Respected leaders also shared their valuable thoughts on conserving water.

The program concluded with participants signing a Water Commitment Poster, taking a collective pledge to conserve water and spread awareness in society.

The activity was conducted under the guidance of Sri Anurag Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager & District Commissioner (Scout), and Smt. Neha Singh, District Commissioner (Guide), in the presence of Sri Sanjay Meshram, District Secretary, and Sri Dinesh Kumar Yadav, District Training Commissioner (Scout), under the leadership of Sri Dilip Kumar Swain, DOC (Scout), and Smt. Sujata Singh, DOC (Guide).

"World Thinking Day 2026 – 100 Years Celebration"

"The Veer Azad Group of S.E.C. Railway, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bilaspur District" proudly celebrated ✨ 100 Years of World Thinking Day ✨ on "22nd February 2026" with great enthusiasm, unity and discipline.

With this year’s theme “Our Friendship” the celebration beautifully reflected the spirit of brotherhood and global unity. On this special occasion, the newly joined members were given a grand and warm welcome into the VAG family, encouraging them to walk the path of service, leadership and commitment.

The programme was conducted in an energetic and well-organized manner, including the All Faith Prayer, certificate distribution of various events, and an inspiring group meeting. The active participation and coordination of all members once again proved the strength, character and unity of Veer Azad Group.

This celebration was not just an event, but a powerful reminder that Scouting friendship lasts forever and service is our true identity.

Veer Azad Rover Crew Council Meeting:

"The Veer Azad Rover Crew/SECR/BS&G/BSP" proudly conducted its Crew Council Meeting at The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bilaspur District Headquarters, filled with enthusiasm, discipline, and true Rovering spirit.

The meeting was efficiently chaired by Piyush Sharma and secretarially managed by Samuel Koushik, ensuring smooth coordination and productive discussion throughout the session.

Key agendas of the meeting included planning for the upcoming One-Day Service Camp, reviewing the Nipun & Rajya Puraskar progress, and setting the Crew’s activity roadmap for the coming months.

Additionally, the council discussed strategies and initiatives for the overall progress and development of the Rover Section, focusing on participation, skill enhancement, and better coordination within the crew.

The council concluded with renewed motivation, unity, and dedication — reinforcing the motto of Rovering: “Service through Self-Discipline and Leadership.” ⚜️

We are delighted to share that the Group Level Scouter–Guider Conference, organized by the Veer Azad / Veerangana Avantibai Group, SECR/BS&G, Bilaspur District, on 2nd & 3rd August 2025 at the New District Den, was successfully concluded!

With active participation from both trained and proposed leaders, the two-day conference featured powerful discussions, visionary planning, and a renewed commitment to Scouting and Guiding excellence.

"Veeranaga Avanti Bai Group (VAG)/SEC Railway, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Bilaspur District"

"Planning Meeting for 2025-26"

Flag Ceremony:
The meeting began with a flag ceremony conducted in V-formation, showing discipline and unity among the rangers.

Main Points Discussed:

1. Ranger Advancement:
Attendance of all rangers was recorded and their performance was reviewed.

Rangers eligible for advancement were identified based on regular participation and contribution.

2. Selection of Ranger Mate & Senior Ranger Mate:
Based on teamwork and leadership skills, the Ranger Mate and Senior Ranger Mate were selected by mutual discussion.

They will now assist in leading the section and coordinating group activities.

3. Duty Distribution:
Duties and responsibilities for upcoming programs were distributed among all members.

Tasks were assigned based on individual strengths and interests.

4. Activity Planning & Allocation:
Upcoming events were discussed and planned, such as:

*15th August Celebration
*Community Service Projects
*Group Camp

Each activity was allotted to specific members for preparation and management.

The meeting concluded successfully. All rangers were motivated to take active part in every event and fulfill their* *responsibilities sincerely.

✨Tribute to Shaheed Veer Chandrashekhar Azad on His Jayanti✨

To commemorate the birth anniversary of Shaheed Veer Chandrashekhar Azad, a meaningful and patriotic program was successfully organized today by the Veer Azad–Veerangana Avantibai Group, SECR/BS&G/BSP at the New District Headquarters. The event aimed to honour the indomitable courage, deep patriotism, and supreme sacrifices of our national heroes—especially Azad and other valiant freedom fighters.

The program commenced with an All Faith Prayer, fostering a spiritual and harmonious environment that beautifully echoed the spirit of unity in diversity—one of the fundamental values of scouting and guiding.

This was followed by an inspiring Speech Competition with enthusiastic participation from Rovers and Rangers. Participants eloquently spoke on the Life and Contributions of Veer Chandrashekhar Azad and Veerangana Rani Avantibai, paying heartfelt tribute to their sacrifices and highlighting their powerful legacy.

All attendees—including unit leaders, young Scouts/Guides and Rover/Rangers—were deeply moved by the energy, discipline, and patriotic spirit demonstrated throughout the event.

Such commemorative programs not only keep the memory of our freedom fighters alive but also serve as a beacon of inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to uphold the ideals of service, courage, and nation-building.
