Madam/ Sir,
As you are aware, Jal Jeevan Mission is being implemented in partnership with States to make provision of tap water supply to every household of the country by 2024. This year as the nation celebrates ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a special Gram Sabha is being convened across the length and breadth of the country to discuss and deliberate on issues related to drinking water in their villages in a move to attain ‘WASH Prabudh Gaon’.
2. On this occasion, Hon’ble Prime Minister will do Samvad with members of Pani Samitis in a special Gram Sabha on Gandhi Jayanti i.e. on 2nd October, 2021 from 11 am to 12 Noon. This interaction with the Prime Minister will boost the energy of the community and local leaders who worked throughout the pandemic and during lockdown ensuring tap water reached every household.
