Oh, how we all miss the school life at Scholar's! Returning to new sessions every year and hoping to finally see a canteen,
Arriving 10 minutes past prayer time and pleading not guilty to Nilu ma'am,
which would obviously be followed by Anjali Sherde ma'am or Das sir's instructions to run 3 circles in the ground...well that was probably the only time we would feel how big the ground actually was!
And if you happen to have studied there after 2002, you must have shared the joy too of having the slums removed. :)
The waiting for the bus to Lal parade ground or TatyaTope Stadium for day-long practice sessions before the Sports-meet...(which was really cool for the ones who didn't come to school by the bus)
Remember, one session we returned to white-washed classrooms and heard the boom of Intercom! Beloved principal ma'am went: "There's a lot of noise coming from the classes. Teachers please see that there is silence!" :O
Now that was something really cool. ;)
How we miss being caught wasting pipettes and salts and acids in the Chem lab (Rekha Gour ma'am frowns were unbeatable!)
And Aradhana ma'am would barge out of the library shouting at everyone to keep silence...(but she would still shout herself!) ;)
Mamta ma'am was our permanent hindi teacher, and Suparna ma'am the english one. Although I happen to have studied there longer than many, and I still remember the motherly Shyama ma'am, Indu ma'am, Jayshree ma'am (History teacher; she had a funny sign i can recall) Madhu Kaul ma'am and Indu ma'am from 1st and 2nd and 6th standards...and who would forget the drawing class with Smita ma'am (such a nice lady she was)...
And of course Mrs. Ritu Dwivedi...the RituDuo was incontrovertibly the most popular one. :D
Our karate instructor the very handsome Mr. Jamal Nasir (Oss!), good ol' music teacher Quaadir Khan, Das ma'am at the reception, elderly Yusuf sir at Fee counter... the cycle stand, the recesses, the stupid fights over petty issues, the countless drawing competitions, the crushes when hormones kicked in first times in teenage, the standing in corridors for punishment during rains.....how we miss all of that and more! Cheers, fellow Scholarites! :)
