*National unity*
National unification where all the people of the country know that despite differences in terms of caste, religion, culture and language they are one. One of the special features of our nation is that the citizens of freedom enjoy the religion of their choice. Likewise, citizens have the freedom to dress, and communicate with one another as they wish. Despite geographical and natural diversity, politically we are all one.
Factors enabling unity in diversity
*1.Geographical unity*
Every state, province, regional language, dress of the people's , natural beauty, various crops of agriculture, have naturally made us feel one.
*2. Political unity:*
All 29 states operate under the same constitution.
*3. Religious unity:*
People of different religions follow their religion without any fear and respect each other's religion.
*4.Linguistic unity:*
Each state has its own language and literature. People of one language respect people who speak other languages and promote unity.
*5.Cultural unity*
People follow different religions and have their own customs, traditions and different identities. Yet they are unity among Indians amidst diversity.
Factors promoting national unity
*1.Secularism*
As India is a secular country, its citizens enjoy freedom of religion and all religions behave equally which contributes to national unity.
*2. Democracy*
Being a democratic country, all citizens are equal before the law. There is no discrimination on the basis of race, religion, language or culture that contributes to national unity.
*3.National Festivals*
National festivals like Republic Day bring people together during celebrations regardless of their religion, language and culture.
*4.Our national symbols*
Our national symbols like national anthem, national flag, national animal, national bird, national flower, etc. enable us to identify ourselves as belonging to one nation.
*5.Interdependence*
Central and state governments work together to achieve common efforts of the nation. Various crops grown in different state are sold depending on other states. This is when the reciprocal money exchange between the states is maintained. This shows that no part of the country as well as the region can get development without relying on other parts of the country.
*6.Directive Principle Of State & established by law*
what the state should be like, what is the responsibility of the citizens of the states. It is the moral responsibility of all of us to have a sense of respect and brotherhood towards all the people living in the state. It is called true patriotism and loyalty to the nation.
