Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh is a renowned paediatrician, an innovative protector, a philanthropist, an activist, a politician and a humanitarian who is working in all possible and innovative ways to improve and uplift the lives and betterment of the people of Bihar and Jharkhand. His diverse achievements and contributions for the welfare of the people of eastern India, has made a huge population look up
to him as a visionary and the one who can reshape the state's future and bring back the ancient glory of modern Bihar. As a protector, he understands his people and is helping families below poverty line afford lifesaving treatments of their new-borns at nominal prices. As a philanthropist, even though being a busy doctor, he knows the needs of his geography hence he often comes up with cheap & effective inventions for noble causes. As an activist he is not only by the side of the deprived people but also takes a strong stand on social issues. As a Politician, he inspects and interprets the problems of the vulnerable people of Bihar. As a Humanitarian he has selflessly run various awareness campaigns to reduce road accidents, motivate self-employment, development of infrastructure, preserving and enhancing the environment through plantation and cleanliness drives. Academics and Responsibilities:
Dr. Kumar is also the Founder and President of Jeevan Jagriti Society, a non profit organization working in various disciplines for the welfare of Bihar and Jharkhand. He is working tirelessly since almost 2 decades as a pediatrician and is running a multi facility 50 bed hospital at advanced Sneh Nursing Home, situated at Bhagalpur,Bihar. He was the former secretary of Indian Medical Association, Bihar and Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Bihar. He has a pioneering work in advancement in neonatology in Bihar
Diverse Initiatives and Unique Innovations:
1. For Floods in Bihar:
● Dr. Ajay Kumar Water Helmet:
A Water Helmet is a very simple and useful piece of creativity to help people float in water in the areas affected by floods. It is currently helping the people who are adversely affected by floods in Bihar. It costs just ₹150.
● Dr. Ajay Kumar Cage Model
As the Water Helmet, Dr. Ajay Kumar has developed a model to preserve landslides, falling of huts and houses due to the heavy rain and floods in Bihar.
● Dr Ajay Fire Exit Technique
The fire exit technique helps people exit
buildings or apartments safely in case of
any fire emergency.
● Dr Ajay's iron curtain model
Iron Curtain model is a very useful
technique to prevent house to go into
river water.
2. For Road Accidents:
He has organised multiple awareness campaigns and sensitisation drives at road accidents prone areas. He has also appointed accident assistance friends in villages near National Rajpath to help road accident victims.
3. Free Health Aid to Vulnerable and Specially abled patients:
He has organised many health camps for vulnerable people of Bihar and Jharkhand. He has also provided free access to artificial legs for specially abled patients, free camp for children who cannot listen.
4. Child in the lap of mother & plant in the father's lap initiative:
He is working as a pediatrician for over 2 decades, and when a child is born at his hospital Sneh Nursing Home, with every child a sapling is gifted to the parents and asked to nurture the plant just as they will nurture their child. This initiative has been successfully incorporated for 7 years.
5. Other Social Initiatives:
● CORONAVIRUS prevention
He has run several awareness campaigns to urge the public to follow and maintain the precautionary protocol of covid 19. He has also provided local hospitals with transparent plastic curtains to ensure minimum transmission of Coronavirus
by air.
● Aid to Crematorium Ghats
He has helped in constructing more than hundreds of benches for the people when they visit the crematorium ghats situated on the banks of the Ganges within a radius of 100 km in Bhagalpur.
● Self employment initiative
He has established a self-employment cell headed by an ex-director to educate and explore the opportunities of rural people in small-scale industries along with highlighting government subsidies for the same. Awards and Appreciation:
