*Fitness, Focus & Female Participation Take Centre Stage Across Baramulla*

_DYSS Baramulla intensifies Fit India Movement through district-wide Yoga and Rope Skipping activities; U-14 & U-17 Girls Volleyball Championship begins with participation of over 400 athletes from 18 educational zones_

Baramulla, June 4: In a vibrant display of commitment towards health, fitness, and youth empowerment, the Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS) Baramulla organized a series of Yoga and Rope Skipping activities across all educational zones of the district under the banner of the Fit India Movement.

The activities witnessed enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students who actively engaged in yoga sessions and rope-skipping demonstrations aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, and an active lifestyle. The initiative reflects the department's continued efforts to cultivate a culture of fitness among school-going children and inspire them to adopt healthy habits from an early age.

Meanwhile, on the third day of the ongoing Inter-Zonal District Level Volleyball Competition, the much-anticipated Under-14 and Under-17 Girls Volleyball Championship commenced today at the Indoor Stadium Khawaja Bagh, Baramulla.

A total of 36 teams representing 18 educational zones of the district are participating in the championship, with the involvement of more than 400 girl athletes. The competition has provided a significant platform for young volleyball players to showcase their sporting talent, teamwork, and competitive spirit.

The matches witnessed high energy, determination, and remarkable sportsmanship as teams battled for supremacy in their respective age categories. The championship is scheduled to continue till tomorrow, culminating in the crowning of district champions in both categories.

DYSS Baramulla remains committed to providing quality sporting opportunities and fostering holistic development among students through regular participation in sports, fitness, and recreational activities.

Double Glory for Zone Sopore: Dominates U-14 & U-17 Inter-Zonal District Volleyball Championship

_Sopore Emerges Champion in Both Categories as 432 Young Volleyball Players Showcase Talent and Sportsmanship at Khawaja Bagh Arena_

Baramulla, June 4: The Inter-Zonal District Level Volleyball Championship for Under-14 and Under-17 Boys, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Baramulla, concluded today on a high note at the historic HS Ground Khawaja Bagh, with Zone Sopore scripting a remarkable success story by clinching the championship titles in both age categories.

The highly competitive tournament witnessed participation from 36 teams comprising 432 players representing various educational zones of the district. Throughout the championship, young athletes displayed exceptional volleyball skills, discipline, teamwork, and sporting spirit, making the event a grand celebration of youth sports.

In the finals of both the Under-14 and Under-17 categories, Zone Sopore outclassed Zone Kunzer to lift the championship trophies. Despite falling short in the title clashes, Zone Kunzer delivered impressive performances throughout the tournament and secured the runner-up position in both categories.

The closing and prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, accompanied by the tournament Activity In-Charges Mubeen Ahmad Khan and Shabir Ahmad Thoker. The dignitaries congratulated the participating teams for their outstanding performances and appreciated the efforts of the field staff, technical officials, and organizers for the successful conduct of the championship.

On the occasion, the DYSSO distributed trophies and certificates among the winning and runner-up teams and commended the players for demonstrating exemplary sportsmanship and dedication. He emphasized that such competitions provide an excellent platform for young athletes to hone their skills and prepare for higher-level competitions.

Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori further reiterated the department's commitment to promoting sports culture across the district and encouraged students to actively participate in sporting activities for their overall physical and mental development.

Meanwhile, preparations have been completed for the Inter-Zonal District Level Volleyball Championship for Under-14 and Under-17 Girls, which is scheduled to commence from tomorrow at the same venue, promising another exciting chapter of competitive volleyball in Baramulla. Pedaling Towards a Healthier Future: DYSS Baramulla Marks World Bicycle Day 2026 with Enthusiastic District-Wide Celebrations

_Hundreds of Young Cyclists Participate Across Multiple Zones Under the Fit India Movement, Promoting Fitness, Sustainability, and Active Lifestyles_

Baramulla, June 3: In a vibrant display of fitness, environmental awareness, and sporting spirit, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Baramulla celebrated World Bicycle Day 2026 across various educational zones of the district under the flagship Fit India Movement. The district-wide celebrations witnessed the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of students, teachers, and officials, reaffirming the department's commitment to promoting healthy and active lifestyles among the youth.

At Zone Sopore, a grand Cycling Championship was organized in collaboration with Boys Higher Secondary School Chankhan, attracting hundreds of boys and girls from various government and private educational institutions. The event witnessed thrilling competition and remarkable sportsmanship. BHS Chankhan emerged as the winner in the boys' category, while MET Higher Secondary School secured meritorious honors in the girls' category.

Meanwhile, Zone Singpora Pattan organized an impressive cycling rally to commemorate the occasion. More than 50 students, along with officials from the Youth Services and Sports Department, participated in the event. The rally commenced from Railway Station Mazhama and concluded at Higher Secondary School Gund Khawaja Qasim, spreading the message of fitness, environmental conservation, and the importance of cycling as a sustainable mode of transport.

Similarly, Zone Tangmarg celebrated World Bicycle Day with great enthusiasm under the Fit India Movement, witnessing the participation of nearly 200 students who actively took part in cycling activities and awareness programmes highlighting the benefits of regular physical activity.

Zone Dangiwacha also organized World Bicycle Day celebrations with active participation from students and field staff, promoting cycling as a means of maintaining physical fitness and reducing environmental pollution.

Likewise, Zone Dangerpora marked the occasion through a massive cycling event in which hundreds of boys and girls participated enthusiastically, showcasing their commitment to fitness and healthy living.

Speaking on the sidelines of the celebrations, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Baramulla, lauded the efforts of all participating zones for organizing successful and impactful events. He emphasized that World Bicycle Day serves as an important reminder of the role of cycling in fostering physical well-being, environmental sustainability, and community engagement.

He stated that the Fit India Movement continues to inspire young people to adopt healthier lifestyles and participate actively in sports and fitness activities. He further appreciated the students, teachers, and departmental officials for their enthusiastic involvement and urged them to make cycling a regular part of their daily routine.

The celebrations concluded with a renewed pledge to promote fitness, healthy living, and environmental consciousness across the district through sports and physical activities.
