Wetlands of the Western Ghats support a rich diversity of waterbirds.
Species like the Fulvous Whistling-Duck, Lesser Whistling-Duck, Bar-headed Goose, Knob-billed Duck, and Ruddy Shelduck depend on healthy lakes, rivers, and marshes for food, shelter, and migration stopovers.

Protecting wetlands is essential for safeguarding these birds and maintaining the ecological balance of the Western Ghats.

Some of the Western Ghats’ most unique animals are disappearing as their habitats shrink and fragment. 🌿

From canopy forests to mountain grasslands, species like the lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri marten, Nilgiri tahr, and Indian pangolin and many more , depend on very specific ecosystems to survive. When these habitats are disturbed or lost, their chances of survival decline rapidly.

Protecting the Western Ghats means protecting the landscapes these species call home.

Managing invasive species is essential to protecting the Western Ghats.

Through monitoring, targeted removal, and restoring native vegetation, we focus on long-term solutions rather than quick fixes. Controlling invasive species strengthens forest resilience, reduces fire risk, and allows natural ecosystems to recover and thrive.
