India’s has some core advantages in the AI infrastructure sector: young talent at scale, and experience building digital public infrastructure like Aadhaar and UPI. However, Abhishek Singh highlights the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure real-world impact.
India and Switzerland’s collaborative relationship is one such example, with plans to create a framework for a shared global compute infrastructure by the next AI Summit in Geneva, as well as shared voluntary guiding principles for resilient, innovative and efficient AI.
If you want just a glimpse at what this could look like in action, we also spoke to Antriksh Cloud—an Indian startup that is actually building the physical backbone of AI—developing large-scale, domestic data centres designed to process AI workloads within India.
