What an inspiring display of energy and commitment from our youth! I am truly impressed by these enthusiastic and compassionate young minds. Their innocence and dedication to social causes, particularly their efforts to raise awareness about the alarming rise in student suicides, are incredibly motivating.
Recently, we honored students who helped spread awareness on this critical issue by presenting certificates and expressing our heartfelt gratitude. Over the past two decades, student suicides have surged at an alarming rate of 4% annually—double the national average. In 2022, male students represented 53% of total cases, with a notable 6% decrease in male suicides from 2021 to 2022, while female suicides increased by 7%, as reported by the IC3 Institute.
This pressing situation calls for urgent reflection and action. Every challenge has a solution. We must foster open conversations and encourage those in need to seek help rather than resort to self-harm. Government schools and colleges, such as 18th Cross Government College, provide invaluable life lessons that extend beyond traditional academics, empowering students to tackle real-world challenges outside their comfort zones.
Let’s come together to raise awareness and make a difference!
