Directorate of Urban Land Transport

Directorate of Urban Land Transport Welcome to the page of Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT), Government of Karnataka. We would like to hear from you.

The Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) is a Government of Karnataka initiative under the Urban Development Department responsible for overseeing all the urban land transport initiatives in Urban/ Local Planning Areas of Karnataka. Karnataka is the only state in India to have an exclusive Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT). The directorate was up in 2007 by the State Government on t

he heels of the National Urban Transport policy coming into force, to coordinate planning and implementation of urban transport matters in the State. This was the first time, qualified personnel trained in urban transport planning were introduced to the system to help with the growing challenges of urban mobility. We advocate of Non Motorised Transport, Cycling, Public Transport and Pedestrian friendly measures to be the main mode of transport around the cities. This is more sustainable and ecological solution to our mobility requirements and keeps our cities more healthy for us. If you are somebody with ideas on sustainable mobility, get in touch with us.
