Strengthening Bengaluru's Mobility Planning Through Public-Private-Academic Collaboration
A collaboration between DULT (Government of Karnataka), IISc, and Bosch Ltd. has resulted in the Aggregate Multimodal Mobility Model (M3DM), a first-of-its-kind tool now supporting the development of Bengaluru's Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) in real time.
This initiative is a strong example of how government, research institutions, and the private sector can come together to create real impact, ensuring a unified, data-driven approach to shaping the city's transport future.
To disseminate effective use of the M3DM model and its software tools, IISc conducted capacity-building training sessions for key stakeholders, DULT, BDA, GBA, BMRDA, and DTCP (Module 1 – March 2026, Module 2 – July 2026), as well as consultants engaged on the Bengaluru CMP, ensuring consistency and technical rigor across the planning process.
A strong step toward smarter, more coordinated urban mobility planning for Bengaluru.
ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ-ಖಾಸಗಿ-ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಸಹಯೋಗದ ಮೂಲಕ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಚಲನಶೀಲತಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಬಲವರ್ಧನೆ
ನಗರ ಭೂ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನಾಲಯ (DULT), ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ (IISc) ಮತ್ತು Bosch Ltd. ನಡುವಿನ ಸಹಯೋಗವು ಆಗ್ರಿಗೇಟ್ ಮಲ್ಟಿಮೋಡಲ್ ಮೊಬಿಲಿಟಿ ಮಾಡೆಲ್ (M3DM) ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಒಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಉತ್ಪನ್ನವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಚಲನಶೀಲತಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯ (CMP) ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ನೈಜ-ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಖಾಸಗಿ ವಲಯ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿ ನೈಜ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಬಲ ಉದಾಹರಣೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಗರದ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಭವಿಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲು ಏಕೀಕೃತ, ದತ್ತಾಂಶ-ಆಧಾರಿತ ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.
M3DM ಮಾದರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಸಾಫ್ಟ್ವೇರ್ ಪರಿಕರಗಳ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಬಳಕೆಗೆ, IISc ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾಲುದಾರರಿಗೆ; DULT, BDA, GBA, BMRDA ಮತ್ತು DTCP (ಮಾಡ್ಯೂಲ್ 1 – ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2026, ಮಾಡ್ಯೂಲ್ 2 – ಜುಲೈ 2026), ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು CMP ಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿರುವ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಿಗೂ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಿಂದ ಯೋಜನಾ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಯುದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ ಸ್ಥಿರತೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಖಚಿತಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ ಚುರುಕಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಂಘಟಿತ ನಗರ ಚಲನಶೀಲತಾ ಯೋಜನೆಯತ್ತ ಇದೊಂದು ಬಲವಾದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ.
