One of my favourite things about Tulika books is how Indian, diverse and refreshingly different they feel.

This assorted bunch has everything from colourful picture books and simple stories to books rooted in Indian cultures, languages and everyday experiences. Tulika is particularly known for its multilingual and bilingual books, making it a wonderful choice for children growing up with more than one language.

As a librarian, I love adding Pratham books to the library because they give children stories that look and sound like their world—while also opening little windows into cultures and experiences different from their own.
A lovely collection for read-alouds, independent reading and discovering Indian children's literature. 🌈📖

Reading anything to a child—a cookbook, a dictionary, even a manual—is valuable as long as you read to them every day. The sound of your voice, your words, and emotions create a strong impact. Studies show that regular reading to children speeds up their language development, and engaging them with eye contact and voice modulation makes it even more exciting. Fun sounds like "Wham! Bang! Moooo!" may feel silly, but they capture your child’s attention and help them learn.
I have few members in my library who read to their grown up teenage kids. And I did ask them how you feel about reading to a grown up child. Their answer surprised me. One of them said, I forget all my stress when I read to them, I feel I travel back in time when we were all very young and these teenage fights and tensions where a light year ahead.
Be proud, Read Aloud.

A useful collection for curious young readers who want to understand what is happening to our planet and what we can do about it. 🌱

The series covers topics such as climate change, greenhouse gases, deforestation, biodiversity, extreme weather, renewable energy, recycling, saving water and organic farming—making it easy for children to explore the subject one topic at a time.

As a librarian, I like that the books move beyond simply saying “global warming is bad” and introduce children to causes, consequences and possible solutions. They can be especially useful for school projects, research and children who are beginning to ask questions about the environment.

📚 Best suited for: Primary & middle-school readers
🌱 Good for: Environmental studies, projects & independent learning

A handy little set for raising environmentally aware and curious readers! 🌏💚

It’s quite rare to see a book review written by Vedansh’s - a 9 year old- review of Fish in a Tree made us smile!

When children share what they think about a book, they’re doing much more than recommending a story. They’re learning to express their thoughts, reflect on what they read, and find their own voice as readers. 🌱📖

We would love to see more young readers write their own book blurbs and reviews!

Dear parents, next time your child finishes a book, instead of asking only, “Did you like it?”, encourage them to write 3–4 lines about:
✨ What they liked
✨ Their favourite character or moment
✨ What they learnt
✨ Why they would recommend (or not recommend) the book

Let’s give our young readers a platform to think, write and share. Who knows—we may be nurturing the next generation of book critics! 💫

Well done, Vedansh! Keep reading, keep thinking, keep writing! 👏📚
