Shri Karmeswar Ray, Honโ€™ble EM of Sericulture, BTC, Shri P. Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board (CSB) and senior officials from CSB & BTC graced the meeting.

The Member Secretary, CSB briefed on various Central Government schemes & ongoing *Mera Resham Mera Abhimaan 2.0* campaign and other initiatives for the development of Sericulture in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam.
Discussions were also held on preparing a comprehensive five-year plan of BTR to strengthen the silk sector.

The Department of Sericulture, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) successfully organized the State Level "Mera Resham Mera Abhiman 2.0" programme on 2nd September 2026 at Bodoland Silk Park, Adabari, Kokrajhar.

The programme was graced by Shri P. Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, Bengaluru as the Chief Guest, Dr. Naresh Babu N, IFS, Joint Secretary (Tech.), Central Silk Board, Bengaluru as the Guest of Honour, along with Sri Karmeswar Ray, Hon'ble Executive Member, Sericulture, BTC, Directors from Central Silk Board and other distinguished dignitaries.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from sericulture farmers, entrepreneurs and officials, highlighting the impact of the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman initiative in promoting sericulture development across the region.

Shri. P Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretory and the team CSB visited Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat and interacted with the Honโ€™ble Vice-Chancellor and AAU team.

The team also visited various field plots, experimental sites, Amrit Sarovar, nurseries, tea gardens and tea factory. Productive discussions were held on practical collaborative initiatives integrating Assam Tea and Assam Silk, with special focus on developing Teaโ€“Muga-Eri models.
