YSS Bandipora: Inspiring Sporting Excellence Through Football & Athletics

Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, District Bandipora successfully conducted Football and Athletics activities across different zones of the district, providing young athletes with opportunities to showcase their talent, skills and sporting spirit.

In Zone Sumbal, Football Trials for AAG Boys were successfully conducted, witnessing enthusiastic participation from young footballers who displayed their skills, determination and passion for the game.

Meanwhile, Zone Hajin conducted the Athletics Meet for U-17 and U-19 Boys, where participants competed in various athletic events with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

The events reflected the department’s continued efforts to promote sports at the grassroots level and identify promising young talent. The initiative also encouraged students to remain active, disciplined and committed to a healthy sporting lifestyle.

The Directorate appreciated the efforts of the concerned ZPEOs, physical education staff, officials, coaches and all those associated with the successful conduct of the activities.

YSS Bandipora: Promoting Excellence Through Athletics and Yoga

Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, District Bandipora successfully conducted Inter-School Zonal Level competitions in Yoga and Athletics across different zones of the district, witnessing enthusiastic participation from young sportspersons.

Zone Hajin conducted the Athletics competition for U-14 Boys, where young athletes showcased their speed, strength, stamina and sporting talent with great enthusiasm and competitive spirit.

Meanwhile, Zone Sumbal conducted the Yoga competition for Girls, providing participants an opportunity to demonstrate flexibility, balance, concentration and discipline through various yoga activities.

The events were conducted smoothly under the supervision of the concerned zonal staff, with a focus on promoting sportsmanship, fitness and healthy lifestyles among students. The Directorate continues its efforts to provide young athletes with platforms to develop their skills and pursue excellence in sports.

Young Footballers Shine at Inter-School AAG Competition in Hajin.

Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, District Bandipora, through Zone Hajin, conducted the Inter-School Football Competition for Boys under AAG at HSS Ground Hajin.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation of 220 young footballers from different schools of the zone. The participants displayed impressive football skills, teamwork, discipline and competitive spirit throughout the event.

The matches provided young players with a valuable platform to showcase their talent and gain competitive exposure. The event also encouraged students to adopt an active lifestyle and develop the values of teamwork, sportsmanship and fair play.

The successful conduct of the competition reflects the continued efforts of the Directorate and Zone Hajin towards promoting sports and nurturing young sporting talent at the grassroots level.

Honouring the Legend, Celebrating the Spirit: YSS Bandipora Marks National Sports Day with Grand District-Wide Celebrations

Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, District Bandipora, celebrated National Sports Day 2026 across the district with grandeur, enthusiasm and an overwhelming display of sporting spirit, commemorating the birth anniversary of legendary hockey icon Major Dhyan Chand.
The celebrations were organised on a grand scale across all zones of District Bandipora, witnessing enthusiastic participation of students, young athletes, physical education staff and sports enthusiasts. A wide range of sporting and fitness-oriented activities were conducted to create a vibrant atmosphere and underline the importance of sports in everyday life.
As part of the celebrations, YSS Bandipora collaborated with the Social Welfare Department to further strengthen the spirit of inclusion and participation. A special programme was organised at HSS Arin, where students enthusiastically participated in cricket, kho-kho and other sporting activities, making the occasion lively and memorable.
The entire district came alive with the message of “Play for Health, Play for Nation, Play for Excellence,” with participants showcasing energy, discipline, teamwork and a strong commitment towards a healthier and fitter society.
The occasion was also dedicated to remembering the extraordinary contribution of Major Dhyan Chand, whose dedication, discipline and achievements continue to inspire generations of sportspersons across the country.
The grand celebrations reflected the coordinated efforts of YSS Bandipora, its field staff and partner departments in taking the message of sports to every corner of the district and providing young people with opportunities to participate, perform and excel.

YSS Bandipora Successfully Concludes Provincial-Level Girls Kabaddi Competitions with Double Triumph.

Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, District Bandipora, successfully concluded the Inter-District Provincial-Level Girls Kabaddi Competitions for U-14 and U-17 categories, held from 19 to 25 August 2026 at Higher Secondary School Nadihal, Bandipora.
The Directorate had entrusted District Bandipora, Youth Services & Sports, with the responsibility of hosting the Inter-District Provincial-Level Girls Kabaddi Competition. The event was conducted successfully with enthusiastic participation from teams representing different districts of Kashmir Division.
Adding to the pride of YSS Bandipora, District Bandipora emerged victorious in both categories. The Bandipora U-14 Girls team secured the Winner’s title, defeating Anantnag, who finished as Runner-up. Similarly, the Bandipora U-17 Girls team also emerged as Winner, with Anantnag securing the Runner-up position.
Throughout the competition, young athletes displayed remarkable talent, discipline, teamwork and competitive spirit. The event provided the players with an excellent platform to showcase their abilities and gain valuable experience at the provincial level.
The successful conduct of the event reflects the dedication and coordinated efforts of DYSSO Bandipora Mr. Ab Majeed Rather, Activity Incharge Mr. Ferooz-ul-Hassan, officials, field staff and all other members of the YSS Bandipora team, whose collective efforts ensured the smooth ex*****on of the competition.

Bandipora Clinches U-14 Girls Kabaddi Title as Provincial-Level Competition Concludes

Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, District Bandipora, successfully concluded the Inter-District Provincial-Level U-14 Girls Kabaddi Competition at Higher Secondary School Nadihal, Bandipora, with enthusiastic participation, competitive performances and a strong display of sportsmanship by young athletes.
In the much-awaited final, District Bandipora emerged as the Winner, while District Anantnag secured the Runner-up position. The competition provided young players with a valuable platform to showcase their talent, confidence, teamwork and sporting spirit.
The concluding proceedings were held in the presence of Ex DYSSO Bandipora , Mr. Nazir Ahmad Bhat ( Chief Guest), DYSSO Bandipora Ab Majeed Rather, Principal HSS Nadihal along with Activity Incharge Mr. Ferooz-ul-Hassan and other officials and staff members, who appreciated the efforts and dedication of all participating teams.
DYSSO Bandipora extends special thanks to the District Information Officer Bandipora, CMO Bandipora, BMO Bandipora, Principal HSS Nadihal, officials, field staff and all other staff members for their valuable support and cooperation in ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the competition.
