Ordinal Numbers Fun at GD Goenka Public School- Grade I !

Our little learners had an exciting and engaging session on Ordinal Numbers. Through fun-filled race activities, flashcards, and interactive classroom participation, students learned to identify positions such as first, second, third, and so on up to tenth. The children enthusiastically took part in arranging flashcards in the correct order, identifying positions, and confidently speaking ordinal numbers aloud.

This hands-on learning experience helped strengthen their number sense, observation skills, sequencing abilities, and confidence, making mathematics both meaningful and enjoyable.

It was delightful to witness our young learners actively exploring mathematical concepts through play-based and activity-based learning, turning every moment into a joyful learning experience.

GD Goenka Public School successfully conducted two enriching CBSE In-House Capacity Building Workshops, facilitated by Mr. Pankaj, aimed at strengthening teachers' understanding of contemporary educational practices and assessment reforms.

The first workshop was conducted on “National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023”. The session provided teachers with a comprehensive understanding of the vision, principles, and recommendations of NCF-SE 2023. Key areas discussed included competency-based education, experiential learning, multidisciplinary approaches, holistic development, and the role of assessment in supporting meaningful learning. Through interactive discussions and collaborative activities, participants explored ways to effectively implement the framework's recommendations in classroom practices.

The second workshop was conducted on “Competency-Based Assessment – Generic”. The workshop focused on the philosophy and implementation of competency-based assessment in schools. Teachers were engaged in analysing learning outcomes, designing competency-focused questions, developing assessment tasks, and understanding the shift from rote memorization to application-based learning.

Practical examples, group activities, and reflective discussions enabled participants to gain hands-on experience in creating meaningful assessment tools aligned with CBSE guidelines.

A successful Parent–Teacher Meeting (PTM) for Classes VI–XII was conducted at G.D. Goenka Public School, Bahadurgarh. The meeting provided a meaningful platform for parents and teachers to discuss students’ academic progress, discipline, and areas of improvement, strengthening the partnership between school and home.

Alongside the PTM, the school Chairperson Ms.Shailaja Joon thoughtfully organised a health check-up camp for teachers, drivers, nannies, and support staff. Expert doctors conducted basic health examinations and shared preventive healthcare guidance. Blood tests and other diagnostic screenings were efficiently carried out by Dr Path Lab, ensuring comprehensive health assessment and timely medical advice. The initiative reflected the school’s commitment to wellbeing and holistic care.

The Stress Management session focused on understanding stress, its impact, and practical ways to manage it effectively. Through interactive activities and discussions, teachers explored strategies to maintain a healthy work-life balance and foster a positive learning environment.

The Cyber Safety & Security session highlighted key aspects of digital citizenship and online safety, including protection against phishing, cyberbullying, online fraud, and social media misuse. Participants also learned practical measures to safeguard personal information and maintain responsible online behavior.
