During Indian freedom movement, 'Coolie Utar Andolan' spearheaded by famous Badri Dutt Pande at this town Baeswar on January 13, 1921 was a great event in this remote area of India. Subsequently another struggle brought many local into main stream under the leadership of Victor Mohan Joshi. allabh encouraged many and now this remote village has the distinction of having produced Nine Freedom Fighters who were honoured with 'Tamr Patra' during 1972 when India celebrating Silver Jubilee of Independence'. Names of these are Devidutt, Govardhan, Narottam, Poornanand, Chandra Sekhar, Harish, Purshottam and Premballabh. Village located at about 5000' overlooking Dhapola Shera valley is place worth going all the way. Two Resorts (Chestnut Grove and Hari Darshan) very near to regular bus stop Vijaypur provide necessary comforts of stay. Temple of Dhoulinag overlooking the village and other villages of valley is a must for peace seekers. A beautiful Tea Garden with a Heritage House of British Days is another attractions.
