SSP Budgam inaugurates Women Help Desk at Police Station Magam.

Budgam: 05th April 2021.
Keeping in view the issues/ grievances related to women in Magam area and to provide a prompt redressal mechanism, Shri Tahir Saleem Khan-JKPS,SSP Budgam inaugurated 24×7 Help Desk at Police Station Magam. This initiative is aimed to ensure timely redressal of women related issues as Budgam Police is committed to ensure safety of the women. SSP Budgam also interacted with officers of women help desk and directed them to work with enthusiasm and maintain professional integrity while redressing the grievances reported to them. SDPO Magam Showkat Ahmad-JKPS , SHO Magam, and other officers were present on the occasion.

Huge dump of illegal timber recovered at Magam Budgam.

Budgam: 31st March 2021.

Police station Magam Budgam along with officials of Forest Protection Force seized a huge dump of illegal timber from the house of one Fayaz Ahmad Rather S/o Gulam Mohammad Rather R/o Mazhama Magam.

The seized timber comprises of 124 logs measuring 161.58 Cft. Case FIR No. 41 /2021 under relevant sections of law stand registered at Police Station Magam and investigation taken up. The accused in the instant case is absconding and will be traced out and arrested soon.

Police arrests drug peddler; Psychotropic substance recovered

Magam Sep 21: In continuation to its war against drug menace, Magam police have arrested a notorious drug peddler for supplying drugs.

Police Station Magam established a Naka at Railway Crossing Mazhama and intercepted one person riding a motorcycle bearing registration No. JK05E/4563. He has been identified as Mohammad Maqbool Mir S/o Ghulam Hasaan Mir R/o Yagipora Magam.

During checking, 14 Bottles of " *Codine Phosphate and 20 Strips containing 480 Capsules* of narcotic drug have been recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case FIR No.140/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and investigation taken up.

As reported by Jameela Begum W/O Late Ab. Majeed Khan R/O Gamboora Tehsil Beerwah Budgam PS Magam that her son namely age 16 years is w.e.f 15-09-2020 from his home.
The description of the said boy is as under:-

Wearing T-Shirt = Yellow/white colour
Pent = Jeans
Shoes = sports
Face = oval

one person namely Shameem Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ab.Salam Sheikh R/O Matipora Magam has kidnapped a girl (name withheld) on 26-08-2020. The said kidnapper boarded the girl on his Motorcycle bearing registration No. JK01S/4965 to some unknown place. A massive hunt has been launched to trace the girl & arrest the kidnapper.
In this regard case FIR NO.129/2020 Stands registered in this Police Station.

On the occassion of Eid-ul-Azha, Police Station Magam extends greetings to all citizens residing within the Jurisdiction of this PS, and prayed for the peace and prosperity and hoped that these auspicious occasions will further strengthen the bonds of peace, prosperity & communal harmony among the people of this Police Station. Magam Police also requested the people to follow SOPs and advisories issued by the administration in order to combat the disastrous impact of Corona Virus pandemic.
Magam Police have also requested to people to avoid religious congregations and offer Eid prayers at their respective homes and maintain Social distancing so that we can eradicate COVID-19 from its roots.

*Police Station Magam cracks down on drug menace, 02 drug peddlers arrested , huge haul of contraband substances recovered.*

Police station magam apprehended 02 drug peddlers from Mazhama area of Magam and recovered 396 strips total 3168 banned tablets.
Cognizance has been taken by Police Station Magam under relevent sections of NDPS act and investigation taken up. Local populace hailed the swift action of the police by arrested these drug peddlers.
