Training-cum-Awareness Programme on Tuberculosis Organised for NCC Cadets under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Phase-II

The District Tuberculosis Centre (DTC) Budgam organised a Training-cum-Awareness Programme on Tuberculosis (TB) for NCC Cadets at Dy. CMO Office/AMT School, Khanpora, Budgam, under the banner of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Phase-II.
The programme was organised with the objective of sensitising and educating NCC cadets about tuberculosis, its symptoms, transmission, prevention, early diagnosis, treatment adherence and the availability of free TB diagnostic and treatment services under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).
The programme was attended by District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) Budgam, District Health Officer (DHO) Budgam, District Information Officer (DIO) Budgam, Deputy Chief Medical Officer (Dy. CMO) Budgam, Principal AMT School, NCC officials, health department officials and other concerned staff.
During the training session, detailed information was provided to the cadets regarding the signs and symptoms of TB, importance of early diagnosis, timely testing, completion of treatment, prevention of transmission and the need to address myths, misconceptions and stigma associated with TB.
The dignitaries emphasised the important role of NCC cadets and youth in creating awareness at the community level and encouraged them to become ambassadors of the TB elimination campaign by spreading correct information about TB among their families, peers and communities.
The participants were also sensitised about various initiatives being implemented under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Phase-II, including intensified awareness, active case finding, early diagnosis, treatment support and community participation, with the ultimate objective of making Budgam and the country TB-free.
The dignitaries appreciated the efforts of the District Tuberculosis Centre Budgam for conducting the awareness programme and stressed upon the importance of continued inter-sectoral coordination and active participation of youth and community institutions in achieving the goals of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The programme concluded with an appeal to all participants to actively disseminate the message:
“Detect TB Early – Start Treatment Timely – Complete the Full Course – Stop TB Transmission.”
