Bandipora, September 24:- The District Drug De-Addiction Centre DDAC, Bandipora, J&K took a significant step in raising awareness and showcasing its services during a two-day Book Fair event held on September 21 and 22, 2023. The event, hosted at the International Delhi Public School Bandipora, was an opportunity for DDAC to reach out to a diverse audience and provide valuable information about its mission and offerings.

Representatives of DDAC, Mr. Showkat Ahmad, PC, and Mr. Aamir Sajad, Supervisor, manned the DDAC Stall at the exhibition. Their presence was instrumental in educating visitors about the various facilities and services available at DDAC Bandipora.

The DDAC in the Book Fair garnered attention from notable visitors, including Deputy Commissioner Dr. Owais Ahmed, IAS, JDP Imtiyaz Ahmad, officials from the DC office, students from various educational institutions, local visitors, and teachers from participating schools. These visitors were offered informative materials, such as pamphlets, which highlighted the services provided by DDAC.

Established as a collaboration between the District Administration, Bandipora, and the Social Welfare Department, Kashmir, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, DDAC is a crucial initiative under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) Scheme initiated by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The management of the centre falls under the capable hands of the dedicated organization, J&K Students Welfare Mission.

As stated during the exhibition, the primary objective of DDAC is to offer comprehensive services to individuals battling drug addiction. These services encompass admission and shelter facilities, nutrition support, stress management, awareness campaigns, counselling, stabilization, education, prevention strategies, detoxification, treatment options, rehabilitation programs, and a focus on the complete recovery of individuals. The centre provides both indoor and outdoor patient treatment facilities to cater to varying needs.

DDAC is designed to create a supportive and nurturing environment for patients embarking on their recovery journey. The centre boasts dedicated sections, including administrative facilities, medical blocks, counselling rooms, a detoxification ward, general ward, a well-stocked library, and recreational areas. A team of dedicated professionals, including male and female counsellors, doctors, trained nurses, and medical staff, is committed to delivering quality care to each individual.

Recognizing that recovery is a gradual process requiring patience and determination from both patients and their families, DDAC offers various treatment modalities, including behavioral therapy and withdrawal therapy. The emphasis is on the Whole Person Recovery (WPR) strategy, with the ultimate goal of enabling patients to confidently reintegrate into their families and communities as productive and healthy individuals.

The District Drug De-Addiction Centre in Bandipora stands as a testament to the collective determination to create a healthier and more vibrant community. It is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting individuals on their journey towards recovery and fostering a brighter future for the district.

As part of their outreach efforts, pamphlets were also distributed to visitors, ensuring that valuable information about DDAC's services reaches a broader audience.

*World Senior Citizens Day Celebrates Wisdom and Experience at Senior Citizens Home Budgam*

*Budgam, August 21: To honour the invaluable wisdom and experience of senior citizens, the Senior Citizens Home احاطہ وقار Budgam, J&K under the able leadership of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mr. Akshay Labroo, IAS and under the noble supervision and guidance of District Social Welfare Officer, Budgam, Mr. Ubaid ul Khazir, JKAS, marked the occasion of World Senior Citizens Day today with a series of thoughtful and engaging activities aimed at celebrating and honoring the elderly residents. The event encompassed medical checkups, thought-provoking discussions, recreational outings, and recognition of the valuable contributions made by senior citizens.

The festivities began with a series of medical checkups conducted by a team of qualified healthcare professionals. This initiative not only ensured the well-being of the residents but also highlighted the organization's commitment to their health and comfort. The medical checkup session provided a platform for addressing health concerns and disseminating crucial information related to senior citizens' healthcare needs.

One of the highlights of the event was a thought-provoking discussion that centered around the experiences, wisdom, and stories of the senior citizens. The sharing of personal anecdotes allowed for a meaningful exchange of insights and perspectives, fostering a sense of community and understanding among the attendees.

The celebration extended beyond the walls of the Senior Citizens Home, as residents enjoyed a visit to a nearby park. This recreational outing provided an opportunity for the senior citizens to rejuvenate amidst nature, fostering a sense of connection with the world around them.

The event was organised by Senior Citizens Home Budgam under the aegis of Implementing Agency - J&K Students Welfare Mission in collaboration with District Administration, Budgam, Department of Social Welfare, Budgam.

During the event, senior citizens were heartwarmingly appreciated for their lifelong contributions to society. Their resilience, wisdom, and lifetime of experiences were acknowledged as valuable assets that continue to enrich the community.

The World Senior Citizens Day celebration by JKSWM in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare Budgam at the Senior Citizens Home in Budgam not only honored the elderly residents but also highlighted the organization's dedication to their holistic well-being. *Managing Committee Conducts Inspiring Inspection of Senior Citizens Home Budgam*

*Budgam, August 2: The Senior Citizens Home (SCH) Budgam underwent a comprehensive inspection today, led by the esteemed members of the Managing Committee and the dedicated representatives of the Implementing Agency. The inspection aimed to assess the various facilities and services being provided at the home and gain valuable feedback from the beneficiaries themselves.
During the inspection, the Managing Committee, Implementing Agency members actively interacted with the residents of SrCH Budgam. The beneficiaries expressed their profound satisfaction with the level of care and support offered at the home. The warmth and compassion shown by the staff were highlighted as instrumental in creating a nurturing environment for the elderly residents.
The Committee lauded the unwavering efforts of the SCH staff in providing exemplary services to the senior citizens. Their dedication to ensuring the well-being and happiness of the residents was highly appreciated. The members also acknowledged the seamless coordination and support from the District Social Welfare Officer, Budgam and luaded the role being played by Nodal Officer/District Social Welfare Officer Budgam, Mr. Ubaid ul Khazir, JKAS for his all time encouragement, support and cooperation to the staff and to the team, which has resulted in the efficient functioning of the home.

The inspection covered various aspects, including the quality of food, medical care, recreational activities, library facilities, counseling services, and overall living conditions for the senior citizens. The inspection committee found that the Senior Citizens Home Budgam had successfully maintained high standards in all these areas, ensuring a comfortable and enriching experience for its esteemed residents.

The Committee recognized the pivotal role played by Staff members SCH Budgam under noble supervision of DSWO Budgam in empowering the elderly by providing them with a safe and supportive environment. The home's commitment to promoting the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of its residents was commended, fostering a sense of community and belonging for all.

The inspection of Senior Citizens Home Budgam today demonstrated the dedication of the Managing Committee and Implementing Agency in ensuring the highest level of care and services for the senior citizens. The glowing feedback from the beneficiaries reinforces the home's reputation as a beacon of compassion and care in the community. SrCH Budgam continues to be a shining example of how society can honor and cherish its elderly members, providing them with the love, respect, and attention they truly deserve.
