Colloquium on Buddhist Art and Architecture was organised by the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University’s Gautam Buddha Study Centre in association with the Department of Tourism Administration on 16 December 2025. The Colloquium aimed to enrich the intellectual horizons of students, research scholars, and faculty members through engagement with contemporary developments in Buddhist studies and related interdisciplinary fields.
The colloquium convened by Dr Madhuri Sawant Director GBSC was inaugurated by G. D. Khedkar, Director, IQAC, BAMU.
The colloquium featured distinguished keynote addresses by eminent scholars. Dr. Kiran Shinde, Cultural Heritage and Tourism Expert and Former Head, Planning Program, La Trobe University, delivered an insightful lecture on “The ‘New World’ of Buddhist World Heritage Sites in India and Nepal.” Dr. Manager Singh, Eminent Archaeologist, Archaeological Survey of India, spoke on Heritage Conservation and Accessibility and Dr. Rajesh Ragde, discussed on the Planning of Buddhist Heritage.
The colloquium witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and scholars, including students from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, adding an important inter-institutional and interdisciplinary dimension to the academic exchange.
