Today a farewell function was organized at Battalion Headquarters, APC Mattan, to bid an affectionate farewell to retiring personnel SI Mohd Yousaf and Follower Gh Nabi. The programme was held under the chairmanship of Shri Ghulam Mustafa, Dy. Commandant, 17 JKAP IR, and was attended by DySP Headquarters Shri Mushtaq Ahmad, along with other officers and officials of the unit.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers lauded the dedication, professionalism, and valuable contributions of the retiring personnel during their long and distinguished service in the department. They highlighted their commitment to duty and their role in maintaining the highest standards of discipline and public service.

The retiring officials expressed gratitude to the department and their colleagues for the support and cooperation extended to them throughout their careers. They also shared their experiences and memorable moments from their years of service.

Today, Monday Inspection cm Piping Ceremony was held at Battalion Headquarters 17 IR Battalion under the chairmanship of Commandant Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon-JKPS in presence of Shri Ghulam Mustafa-JKPS, Dy Commandant and DySP Mushtaq Ahmad, Quarter Master. During the inspection, various sections of the Battalion Headquarters were inspected and necessary directions were passed on the spot for ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the unit affairs.

At the end of Monday inspection, a piping ceremony of recently promoted DySP(M) Reyaz Ahmad Khan was also conducted with great enthusiasm and dignity. Commandant Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon-JKPS congratulated the promoted officer and advised to perform future duties with utmost dedication, discipline and professionalism. Today Commandant Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon-JKPS along with Dy Commandant Shri Ghulam Mustafa-JKPS and Quarter Master Shri Mushtaq Ahmad visited the guard posts of A & B Coy 17 IR Bn in district Kulgam to have a first hand information about various issues being faced by the personnel in performing their legitimate duties. Worthy Commandant also interacted with the personnel as well as with the protected persons/families to sort out various issues being faced by them and gave on spot directions for the early redressal of the genuine problems/demands put up by the personnel.

APC Kehribal Mattan Bids Farewell to Retiring Personnel.

Mattan, April 29: Today a warm and dignified farewell function cm piping ceremony was held today at Battalion Headquarters APC Kehribal Mattan to honor seven personnel (among whom 02 were recently promoted to the rank of ASI) of the unit who retired from government service upon attaining the age of superannuation.

The event was attended by officers and officials of the unit, including In-charge Commandant Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon, JKPS, Dy. Commandant Shri Ghulam Mustafa, JKPS, and DySP (Quarter Master) Shri Mushtaq Ahmad.

Speaking on the occasion, the In-charge Commandant praised the retirees for their years of dedicated service, discipline, and commitment to duty, emphasizing their invaluable contribution to the organization. He extended his best wishes to them for a healthy, happy, and fulfilling post-retirement life.

As a token of appreciation, mementos and welfare gifts were presented to the retiring personnel. Today a seminar-cum-road show titled “Nasha Mukht Abhiyan” was organized at Iqra Gousia Public High School, Mattan Kehribal, with the aim of spreading awareness against drug abuse among the youth. Around 100 students of the school actively participated in the programme, displaying great enthusiasm and interest.

The event featured a series of informative lectures delivered both by students and the officers. The students expressed their views on the harmful effects of drug addiction and highlighted the importance of leading a healthy and disciplined life. Their presentations reflected awareness, confidence, and a strong commitment towards building a drug-free society.

In-charge Commandant Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon-JKPS, in his address, emphasized the urgent need to eradicate drug abuse from society. He urged the students to act as ambassadors of change and spread awareness within their families and communities. He highlighted that the youth play a crucial role in shaping a better future and must stay away from such social evils.

Dy Commandant Shri Ghulam Mustafa-JKPS also addressed the gathering and spoke about the devastating impact of drugs on individuals, families, and society at large. He encouraged students to remain focused on education and positive activities and to support initiatives aimed at curbing drug abuse.
After the seminar, a road show was also organized, through main market Kehribal Mattan and surrounding areas, where students and officials participated enthusiastically, carrying placards and raising slogans against drug abuse to spread awareness among the general public.

The programme concluded with a strong message of collective responsibility, urging everyone to contribute towards making society drug-free.

Today, a road show cm seminar titled “Nasha Mukht Abhiyan – Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life” was conducted at IRP-17th Battalion Headquarters, APC Mattan under the chairmanship of Shri Zahid Aziz Samoon-JKPS, In-charge Commandant, in the presence of Shri Mushtaq Ahmad, Quarter Master.

All personnel of the unit present at Battalion Headquarters participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. During the event, informative lectures were delivered highlighting the ill effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy, drug-free life.
