ਐਂਟੀ-ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਟਾਸਕ ਫੋਰਸ (AGTF) ​​ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਤੋਂ ਦੋ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੋ ਦੇਸੀ .32 ਬੋਰ ਦੇ ਪਿਸਤੌਲ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ।

ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਇੱਕ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਗੈਂਗਸਟਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚਲਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਤਲ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਲਾ ਐਕਟ ਸਮੇਤ ਕਈ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।

ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰੋਂ ਨਸ਼ੀਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਸਕਰੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਗਿਰੋਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾਫਾਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ ਛੇ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ 30.045 ਕਿਲੋਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਹੈਰੋਇਨ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।

ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮ ਦੁਬਈ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਇੱਕ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੈਰੋਇਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਪਾਂ ਭੇਜਣ ਦੀ ਸਾਜ਼ਿਸ਼ ਰਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਦਾਇਤਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਿਤ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਖੇਪਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
