ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰੇਟ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕ ਦਾ ਪਰਦਾਫਾਸ਼ ਕਰਕੇ 3 ਮੁਲਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ 2 AK-47 ਰਾਈਫਲਾਂ, 3 ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਅਤੇ 50 ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਤੂਸਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ-ਅਧਾਰਤ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤਸਕਰ ਦੇ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਤੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੈਰ-ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ।

ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮਾਡਿਊਲ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੇਪਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
