SWL Dwijendra Narjinary, a veteran Indian BSF constable from Alipurduar, North Bengal, lost his eyesight during the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. Despite his sacrifice, his spirit remained unbroken.

As part of the 77th BSF battalion, Narjinary fought alongside the Mukti Bahini and was one of the trainers of the Mukti Bahini, imparting valuable skills to the freedom fighters. He also operated the Medium Machine Gun during intense battles against the Pakistan Army. His bravery came at a great personal cost, but he continued to serve with pride.

Today, Narjinary finds solace in his love of radio, staying updated on national and international news. Recently, he reached out to me, a fellow HAM radio operator (Kingston VU3IYI), with a humble request – to buy him a radio. I was honored to fulfill his wish, gifting him a radio from Amazon.

The North Bengal Amateur Radio Society honors his sacrifice, recognizing him as a respected member. We salute Dwijendra Narjinary, a true hero from North Bengal, and express our gratitude for his service and sacrifice. His story inspires us to appreciate the bravery and selflessness of our armed forces.
