The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2026 was solemnly observed today by the Positive Women Network of Mizoram (PWNM) in collaboration with the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS). The programme was graced by Smt. Lalrinpuii Hon’ble Health Minister as the Chief Guest and Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte Project Director, MSACS as the Guest of Honour.

The observance served as a solemn tribute to honour and remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS, while reaffirming the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards strengthening HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services. The programme also emphasized the continued need to address stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS through sustained awareness, community participation, and social solidarity.

The memorial highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among government agencies, community-based organisations, faith-based organisations, healthcare providers, and civil society in advancing the objectives of the National AIDS Control Programme and ensuring a compassionate and inclusive response to HIV/AIDS in Mizoram.
The programme was attended by representatives from various faith-based organisations, civil society organisations, community networks, healthcare institutions, and other stakeholders.

A meeting of the State Transfusion services core coordination committee was held today at the DHME conference hall under the chairmanship of Dr. Lalthlengliani, Principal Director (H&FW).

The meeting reviewed the performance of blood transfusion services for the 2025–2026 financial year.

Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte Project Director MSACS highlighted that out of a total blood collection of 36,217 units, an impressive 93% came from voluntary blood donations.
The committee also reviewed the current status and operation of the Blood Center, focused on upgrading the Blood Center, improving its quality and building a strong collaboration among stakeholders like MSACS, NHM & DHME.ong stakeholders like MSACS, NHM & DHME.

Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte, Project Director, Mizoram SACS , held a fruitful meeting with the leaders of Isabella Society to discuss matters relating to the strengthening of collaborative efforts under the National AIDS Control Programme.
Isabella Society is a community-based organisation working towards the betterment of FSW, who constitute a sexually marginalised section of society, through the provision of health services, advocacy, and community support initiatives.

An Executive Committee Meeting of the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) was convened today under the chairmanship of Pi K. Lalrinzuali, IAS, Secretary & Commissioner, Dept of Health & Family Welfare, Gov’t of Mizoram.
Dr. Jane Rinsangi Ralte, Project Director, MSACS, and Secretary of the Executive Committee, presented the action taken report and apprised the meeting of the progress made on decisions and action points adopted during the previous Executive Committee meeting.
The meeting was attended by representatives from various stakeholder organisations, including the Young Mizo Association (YMA), Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP), and other concerned departments and partners.
