As part of the **National Campaign on Rural Entrepreneurship**, four batches comprising **120 Self Help Group (SHG) members** successfully completed a **3-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) Training** from **2nd to 4th June 2026**.

The training programmes were conducted at **Matabari CLF, Rajnagar CMTC, Holakhet GP, and Chandrapur Colony GP**, providing aspiring rural entrepreneurs with essential knowledge and practical skills to start, manage, and expand their livelihood enterprises.

During the three-day intensive programme, participants gained valuable insights into entrepreneurship, business planning, financial management, market opportunities, customer relations, and enterprise sustainability. The sessions were designed to strengthen the entrepreneurial mindset of SHG members and encourage them to explore self-employment and income-generating opportunities within their communities.

This initiative marks another important step towards promoting rural entrepreneurship, enhancing livelihoods, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for women across Tripura. The enthusiasm, active participation, and commitment shown by the SHG members reflect the growing entrepreneurial spirit among rural women and their determination to become self-reliant.

🌸 Empowering Women, Promoting Health, Creating Livelihoods 🌸

Menstrual hygiene is not just a health necessity—it is a matter of dignity, confidence, and well-being for every woman.

With this vision, the women Self Help Group (SHG) members of Pecharthal BMMU under Tripura Rural Livelihoods Mission (TRLM) came together to form SHAKTI PAD Non-Farm Collective (NFC) and establish a sanitary pad manufacturing unit. With financial and technical support from TRLM, these dedicated women are now producing affordable, high-quality sanitary pads and making them available in local markets, schools, hospitals, and nearby communities.

This initiative is creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural women while also contributing to greater awareness and accessibility of menstrual hygiene products. SHAKTI PAD NFC stands as a shining example of how collective efforts can transform lives, improve health outcomes, and foster women's economic empowerment.

Since receiving Livelihood Support Grant-1 under the TRIPTI Project, Deranbati Reang from Paltonjoy Para and a member of Khuntai SHG has been steadily strengthening her goatery livelihood.

During village visits, one familiar sight was always her 9-year-old daughter, Sadirung Reang, accompanying her mother while looking after the goats. Whether grazing them or bringing them back home, Sadirung was often seen beside her mother.
Today, that sight has changed.

Instead of being seen with goats, Sadirung is now seen carrying books and wearing her school uniform of the Government Boarding School from Ambassa.

Deranbati's goatery livelihood has grown well over time. During the recent Buiso Festival, she sold one buck for ₹10,000 and two female goats for ₹7,200 and ₹7,500. Even after these sales, she still has eight goats, providing a strong source of income for her family.
Using the income earned from selling the goats, Deranbati recently enrolled Sadirung in the boarding school at Ambassa, turning her livelihood gains into an investment in her daughter's future.
Under Livelihood Support Grant-2, she also opted for Backyard Poultry (BYP) and has already started earning from it, recently selling six chicks at ₹400 each.

The goats helped generate income, but more importantly, they helped open the door to education for Sadirung. where she was once seen beside her mother tending goats, she is now seen with books, a school uniform, and new dreams for the future and a Smile.

Empowering teams to nurture rural entrepreneurship! 🌱💼

TRLM successfully organized a two-day Residential Orientation Programme on the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) on 2nd and 3rd June 2026 at Pragna Bhaban Hall-3 for Block Programme Managers (BPMs), Community Resource Persons for Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EPs), and Business Resource Centre (BRC) members from the six newly approved SVEP blocks.

The orientation provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of SVEP, covering its objectives, implementation framework, operational processes, institutional arrangements, and key strategies for effective ex*****on. Experienced mentors and resource persons from well-performing Phase-I and Phase-II SVEP blocks shared valuable field experiences, best practices, and lessons learned, making the sessions highly interactive and insightful.

The programme strengthened the knowledge and capacities of the field-level teams, equipping them to effectively promote rural enterprises and successfully implement SVEP activities in their respective blocks.

Together, we are creating new opportunities for entrepreneurship, self-employment, and sustainable livelihoods in rural Tripura. 🚀✨

🌱 **From Determination to Success!** 🌱

Smt. Saraswati Shil, a member of Gomati SHG under Fatikchara Federation VO and Subhalaxmi CLF of Mohanpur BMMU, West Tripura DMMU, has become an inspiring example of women-led entrepreneurship through mushroom cultivation.

With the help of a loan of ₹1.50 lakh from her SHG she established a mushroom cultivation unit with around 4,000 mushroom beds. Through her hard work, dedication, and commitment, she earned an impressive income of nearly ₹2.50 lakh in just two harvesting cycles.

Her remarkable journey shows how timely financial support, combined with innovative farming practices and determination, can create sustainable livelihoods and strengthen the economic empowerment of rural women.

🌸 A Story of Hope, Compassion, and Timely Intervention 🌸

The Social Inclusion and Social Development (SISD) team of Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) continues to work not only for livelihood enhancement but also for the safety, dignity, and well-being of vulnerable women and children.

On 17th March 2026, the SISD team of Khowai DMMU received information about a six-year-old girl, Kwthang Debbarma, who had been wandering alone in the Belphang area for nearly 20–25 days. Forced out of her home and left to survive on the kindness of local residents, she had been sleeping on a shop veranda and living without proper food, care, or protection.

Acting immediately, a team comprising TRLM officials and leaders of the Cluster Level Federation rushed to the spot and found the child in a highly neglected condition. Further investigation, carried out jointly with the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Padmabil and local police, revealed a heartbreaking history of abuse, neglect, and deprivation within her family.

Recognizing the urgent need for protection, TRLM officials coordinated with the BDO, ICDS, Police, and Child Care/Sakhi Help Centre. Through this collective effort, little Kwthang was successfully rescued and safely shifted to the Child Care/Sakhi Help Centre in Khowai, where she is now receiving care, medical support, counselling, and rehabilitation services.

This rescue is a powerful reminder that timely action and community cooperation can change lives. TRLM remains committed to protecting the rights of vulnerable children and ensuring that no child is left behind.
